Thanks to this writing process, my work has improved in a very tremendous way because I have been able to reflect on my work before and after I turn it in for a grade. The blogs have given me a sense of guidance through my writing process strategies. Another strategy of mine that has improved is my ability to conduct extensive research, during WP2 which was our collaborative writing piece, I was taught how to conduct credible research to help me draft for my topic. The research I have conducted during this course has been extremely beneficial to me because I now know what credible sources are to ensure that my research is trustworthy. I have learned where to find the best research through the use of different databases.
I have learned from others as others have learned from me. I have tried to improve particular aspects of my writing but continue to struggle with other aspects. I have found new strategies and breakthroughs that have allowed me to improve my essays. However, I am still learning how to write and believe that I always shall be. I have improved upon areas that I was already competent in while addressing the weaker aspects of my writing. This class has been an invaluable learning experience that granted me many opportunities to become a masterful writer. One of those opportunities was the persuasive paper assignment. The persuasive paper assignment was challenging and insightful as it gave me an opportunity to express my new skills that I had learned over the course of this class. I started by taking the research opportunities I was given and narrowing down what I was hoping to talk about gave my paper an excellent foundation.
These are the things that I have worked on and improved over the course of English 1B and I feel that my work shows this. For example, in my peer review essay #1, I realized that the process and research of the information I wanted to incorporate into my essay is a critical step in order to clearly express my thoughts in my essay. I had many ideas and thoughts about what I wanted to say, but had to find a way to put my critical thoughts in an organized way where I could properly express myself. I found that putting all my critical thoughts down on paper though a map or chart helped the organization of my paper greatly. At the start of writing Peer Review Essay #1 I had many top... ... middle of paper ... ...me and unnecessary, but the process of feedback and revision was essential, it not only helped me fix my errors, but it also allowed me to reassess and better structure my essay.
I learnt how to understand myself as a writer. Learning how to construct a Report was one of the most valuable skills I’ve learnt this semester. Unit II overview taught me how to carry out research, develop interview questions, integrate source materials and learn how to not be bias with information given. The textbook played a big part ensuring that I knew the different structures that can be used to create a report and avoid using conative language. Unit III helped me to not only figure out how determine an audience but to also understand them when producing evaluations.

People are always in a haste when they try to express their feelings verbally, however, in the case of writing those feelings, it becomes a challenge. It takes practice and commitment to improve ones writing; with this class I have been able to do so. Through this class, I have learned skills on how to properly express those feelings. In addition, this class was a big transition from high school, however, it has helped me to improve my writing skills. During the course of Advance Writing at ULL with Ms. Busby, I have accomplished a variety of goals I once thought were unattainable. I have learned different writing techniques, ways to format papers, proper tones to use, and how to find and properly use different sources. This course made me realize a lot about my strengths and weaknesses. It also helped me gain knowledge about the particular field that I am majoring in. I have not only grown as a writer and a student, but as a person as well.
