The career that I chose to study was a Physical Therapist. I chose to study physical therapy because it is something that I have become interested in. In this essay I will be telling you about the kind of work a physical therapist does, the skills required to be a physical therapist, the working conditions, the training and education required, the career outlook, and salary.

Kinds of work that they do.
The role of a physical therapist is to treat patients by teaching them different exercises intended to strengthen or stretch muscles as well as alleviate pain. In addition they consult with patients about their symptoms and develop a rehabilitation plan. You must also be able to give health care instructions, operate medical equipment, plan health care treatments, and you have to be a member of a health services team. A bonus skill to have is to be able to treat mental problems as well. This would be a bonus skill because some people may start to struggle with the fact that their lives may never be the same, sometimes the only person that can help them through that process is their physical therapist.

Working Conditions Physical Therapists (PT) usually work in private offices. Other places that you might see a physical therapist are clinics, hospitals, patient’s homes, and nursing homes. They usually spend most of their time on their feet, working actively with their patients. To be able to stay on their feet all day physical therapists must be physically fit, some physical therapists even do the same exercises as their patients to maintain a fit body.

The reason that there is a high demand for physical therapists is because there are so many athletes which means that more injuries are likely to occur, especially because of all the contact that sports are made up of these days.
