Recommended: An introduction to Career Development

As we planned this program, we decided to approach this through Krumboltz career theory lens. This choice was made due to the holistic approach Krumboltz has to career counseling. This theory has four components to it. According to Zunker (2016) the four components to this theory are “genetic endowments and special abilities, environmental conditions and events, learning experiences, and task approach skills” (pg. 34). Genetic endowments and special abilities encompass skills that may hinder or benefit a person within certain careers (Zunker, 2016, pg. 34).
