There are many facilities throughout the United States that can assist patients with in-patient and out-patient services. The in-patient facility consists of hospitals and nursing homes that require admission for up to 24 hours. Out-patient facilities provide clinical, diagnostic testing, and therapeutic services. Clinical services typically found in physician’s office. An out-patient facility consists of an urgent care clinic, and it does not require for stay in the facility. A hospital facility consists of many departments, it can service patients in an emergency situation or admit patients that need further observation and care for a short period. Dealing with death on a regular basis can take a toll on a person. Being a hospice nurse will never be easy and is certainly not for the faint of heart. A hospice nurse watches patient’s health decline, often times very rapidly, and many times sit by the patient’s side as they pass away. It can be exhausting both emotionally and physically. You need to have a big heart and a strong will to help those in need for the occupation. Sara Schmidt certainly never saw herself in the profession, but discovered that she has a true love for helping people.
Adult nursing is a subject I am passionate about. In my opinion, there is nothing more important than the health, safety and security of one’s self and others. I aspire to achieve these attributes for individuals in everyday life and this course will help me to do so. I find helping people rewarding and adult nursing provides a professional platform to achieve this target. It also helps me to progress to a stable job that is solely concentrated on making a positive difference in someone’s life. For this reason, I would feel privileged to be accepted on to this course.
Compare hospice to palliative care and describe the similarities and differences of the two in terms of community health nursing. Having a group of senior citizens following you around for dinner most likely doesn’t sound like a fun night. However, working at a nursing home doesn’t feel like an actual job at all; I actually enjoy spending my nights at the Grand Residence. Not only has this job given me responsibility, but I also have built relationships with many residents. While spending my evenings at a nursing home throughout my high school career, I have come to the realization that I am comfortable and genuinely happy with pursuing a career in patient care in the foreseeable future.
A registered nurse is a critical piece of the support system for injured and sick patients. On the other hand, Both jobs involve a different level of care when helping patients. The job of a nurse and a Registered Nurse provide excellent care and make sure that all patients are getting quality care and respect. The main difference between the two is that instead of simply helping a Registered Nurse as a regular nurse with basic training, I would be helping a doctor if I was an RN because I would have more knowledge from going back to school to augment my skills. In contrast, Registered nurses have a better income than nursing assistants, they make more and the job is more intense. It is a nurse's responsibility to make sure the patient is safe. Saying that you are a registered nurse is a broad statement. Registered nursing is a job that has many aspects. Registered nurses work in many different settings and they carry out many different routines. As a registered nurse you could be exposed to many different opportunities. My goal is to be a registered nurse but, I need to learn a lot. Becoming a being a registered nurse requires a lot of hard work and effort but, if I focus on my goal I will be able to achieve it.
From my point of view, the concept of care or caring is very complex. It includes concern, attention, love, kindness, compassion, protection, trust, support, responsibility. On the one hand, caring for somebody is a very hard work, but on the other hand, caring is a very rewarding experience. As a parent and a wife, I can say that when you care for your loved ones you create the intimate connections that makes you feel happy and whole. As a nursing student, I would say that caring in nursing is even broader concept compared to the personal caring for family.
Elderly patients require special needs when they come into the hospital, weather they are ill, have fallen, end of life care, or are going to undergo surgery. As a nurse the most important and beneficial thing you can do is a full head to toe assessment, and ask the patient if they have an advance directive.
