I believe that volunteering as a graduation requirement defeats the purpose of volunteering, But the community benefits from the requirement. Now I wanna state in no way am I bashing community services, I have no problem with it at all. But under certain circumstance it wouldn't work as a graduation requirement. And sadly it's also time consuming and may cause transportation issues and it ruins the purpose because volunteer literally mean a person who freely offers to take part in an enterprise or undertake a task. This whole need volunteer work to graduate is just ridiculous it makes zero sense at all. Back the definition I gave earlier the word you may notice is freely offers. I know many people who don't have the opportunity to get there licences as their parents wont let them and some people who may get there licences may not be able to afford cars or gas. I understand you may say oh well their parents might have a car to bring them over to the location but at same time some parents don't have the time there are many single parents in this world who might work night, or need to take a lot of hours to support their family I mean my dad doesn't even have his license so I understand where people are coming from. The required amount of time you need for a community service seal on a diploma is 144 hours, which is a lot of time that is about 6 full days. Which sadly not everyone has that time, for instance some kids have to work for there family and make money to maintain food and a house for everyone in there family. In other situation people have family problems for instance in kids who have to move from house to house pretty often meaning they don't have the chance to do the community services. Many kids have family problems that prevent them from doing community service or have jobs they must do. For me community services isn't really an option for me as i must make money to buy that i must need especially for me car and school. On the other hand community service itself isn't a bad thing, it's actually a great thing. I strongly encourage people to do community service. Something i have personally noticed is that people that do community service don't have extra expenses, what i mean by that is that their parents typically pay for there things they need. Which there is nothing wrong with but for me i'd much rather have a real job so i can afford my car, phone bill, and anything else i
