Different skill-sets and aptitudes are required for certain roles and responsibilities in the workplace; personality plays a key role in this. The Myers-Briggs personality test helps identify the type of personality a person has, and helps a person become more effective and engaged within an organization. From my own personal experience and through research, I will discuss my strengths and weaknesses and how my personality type relates to my personal life, work life and a worldview perspective. The personality type that will be discussed is extravert, sensing, feeling and judging (ESFJ).

The Myers-Briggs personality test is a self-report questionnaire that assesses physiological preferences in how individuals make decisions and view the world around them. Once the assessment is taken the individual is then given a four-letter type based on the response to the questions. The letters that are given are different personality traits based on how individuals act within the workplace as well as the real world. I took this assessment myself and discovered that my personality type was ESFJ. The ESFJ personality type is extravert, sensing, feeling and judging. In “Lesson 1- A Worldview Perspective on Organizational Behavior, it states that our personal behavior in organizations has eternal consequences (Fischer, 2009). The weaknesses of my personality type can have tremendous effect on an organization. The ESFJ personality trait tends to worry about their social status which can limit creativity and being open minded. This can also cloud their judgement and affect many decisions that are made personally and professionally. Improvising or being innovative is something that the ESFJ personality steers away
