Perron (2015) states, “school nurses can play a major role in identifying, counseling and protecting the victims of bullying” (p. 290). Perron (2015) also recommends that the school nurse keep track of those students who come to her office complaining of bully-related illnesses, lead school prevention efforts, continue to reinforce that bullying is “un-cool”, and identify areas within and around the school that need adult supervision (p. 294).
K. King (2014) states, “The school nurse is a non-disciplinary, non-academic staff member who, in this position, engenders trust and accountability to both students and staff” The National Association of School Nurses has adopted and published a Positional Statement

• Be knowledgeable about bullying, aggression, and victimization;
• Be aware of the importance of not labeling their students as “bullies” or “victims”

Once upon a time, my best friend, Bryan Martinez, often heard his mother’s medical conversations with friends. One day at school, our teacher confronted Mrs. Martinez and told her that she was able tell that Bryan was a son from a nurse. Apparently there was an incident at school where a little boy was acting out and Bryan told our teacher that the little boy was agitated, and to give him some medication to calm him down. As demonstrated by Bryan, nursing is ongoing profession that promotes the health and well-being of individuals.

When people think of a pediatric nurse practitioner, they normally think of a person who performs examinations, takes blood samples, and measures vital signs of children who are sick. What they don’t see are the countless hours spent getting to know the patient, showing sympathy and understanding, and having to explain the diagnosis and treatment plans to the parents and sometimes to the child. Family Nurse Practitioners have the ability to provide primary and/or preventative care across the life span. This gain in autonomy has been the driving force behind my decision to become a nurse practitioner. Specifically, I would like to provide this type of care to immigrants living in the United Sates. I am a second-generation immigrant. My parents are from Nigeria and came to the United States to pursue their education. Although I was born in and have lived in the United States my whole life, Nigerian culture has had a very strong presence in my household. My decision to become a Registered Nurse was highly influenced by my family and Nigerian culture.

When I first decided to come to college for nursing after staying in university for three years, I had an argument with my parents because they were not happy with my decision. My parents just wanted me to finish rest of my degree and they thought that it did not make sense to go to college for diploma, and not complete the university degree. However, I just wanted to complete my nursing diploma in the same amount of time that I can finish my degree in the university because I always wanted to be a nurse.
A leader is described as a person who guides others and has authority and influence over others. They work to influence others into meeting certain goals. There is no right or wrong definition of a leader and there is no recipe that ensures effective leadership. Successful leaders have a good balance of vision, influence, and power. What is the central component of advanced practice nurses (APNs) direct clinical practice and patient/families?
Saying that you are a registered nurse is a broad statement. Registered nursing is a job that has many aspects. Registered nurses work in many different settings and they carry out many different routines. As a registered nurse you could be exposed to many different opportunities. My goal is to be a registered nurse but, I need to learn a lot. Becoming a being a registered nurse requires a lot of hard work and effort but, if I focus on my goal I will be able to achieve it.
Regardless of the specialty, the main focus of a nurse includes assisting doctors in treating patients and providing clinical and emotional support to both patients and ancillary staff. With the role of administrative nursing supervisor comes additional responsibilities and administrative roles, such as staffing, organizing, prioritizing, and ultimately ensuring safe and quality patient care.
Nursing is a profession or practice of providing care for the sick. A registered nurse is a nurse who has completed nursing school and met the requirements to further their nursing degree. A pediatric nurse is a nurse who takes care of infants and children. "Pediatric nursing is a challenging and rewarding career"(pncb.org).
Three years ago I came to this great country following a goal, a dream, and looking for new opportunities. I never thought that today I would be studying nursing. Honestly, these ideas never crossed my mind after having been a doctor for 20 years in Cuba. Being an immigrant brings overcome barriers where there is no time for fears and doubts, which only have to pursue a particular aim for which to fight relentlessly. Few times we find good opportunities to study, and this one, in particular, I would not lose it. Studying nursing for me would be like starting over, although not entirely, this would allow me to get closer to what I 've always liked, patient care. Simultaneously, it filled me with many questions: Classes in a foreign language would allow me to interact with teachers and at the same time learn from them? How lessons would be taught in the college courses? How would be the interaction with the classmates?
