Physical therapists are healthcare workers who help diagnose and treat people of all ages who have conditions that limit their ability to perform everyday activities. They treat a wide variety of people; from babies to elderly people but mostly athletes. They help individuals in need by first examining them and then by developing a treatment method to either restore function, prevent loss of mobility, or even enhance mobility. Physical therapists can work in a variety of locations like hospitals, schools, fitness facilities, and nursing homes. To be a physical therapist you must be able to work with a variety of people and be comfortable around them. You must be detail-oriented, enjoy working with people, and have good hand skills. It is just dependant on if the good outweighs the bad. In this case, the good definitely outweighs the bad. Being a physical therapist has its major pros, but also cons. When one is looking into a career field, one of the first things they may look at is the salary. Physical therapists make on average about eighty-one thousand dollars per year. Of course, that depends on years of experience, level of education, and such factors. Another pro is an increase in job opportunities. In a world where technology is constantly getting better and smarter, people's jobs are getting taken away by machines that can do the task faster and better. Luckily, physical therapy is not something that can be done by a robot. So, there is always going to be a demand for physical therapists which makes it easier to find a job. A final pro is that you can gain knowledge on health and science. This is big because an education can get you anywhere and knowledge is the most powerful weapon anyone could ever have because it can get you so far and nobody can take it away from you. Of course like any other job, it can come with its cons or bad side. But, it is up to you whether or not you will let that affect you and your practice.
