Before you becoming a Manager or Supervisor, should there be some form of training you should go through? Should there be some classes to take prior to applying for the job? Or is it one of those things that you learn as you go. From my own experience, I have seen a variety of ways to supervise people. I worked in a casino for 18 years; I have been a dealer, where I had a different supervisor almost every day. Trying to learn how every one of them wanted things done was a challenge but in time, I figured it out. So why not have someone there who is going to support you on doing your best so it becomes more than just a paycheck, then not only get the reward of the paycheck but also the recognition for a job well done. 2) Be a leader, not only a manager. A good leader possesses many qualities. Good leaders are positive, dependable, they plan ahead, and they are confidence builders and they don’t dictate. If you plan on just managing a department or a group of people but have no intentions of being a leader then you will have employees who are not so happy, the job that is done will not be to the best of their abilities and it will also show on their faces. If you go in, have a positive attitude, and communicate with the employees they will be happy to help you succeed at the same time they are
