Clinical Supervision is the life wire of any health are professional. It is the on the job teaching that takes place between the supervisor and supervisee. It is a lifelong learning used for personal and professional development which is useful both in nursing education and clinical practice. Its benefit cannot be overemphasized as it is known to improve job satisfaction and prevention of stress /burnout. Supervision is important because it allows the novice to gain knowledge, skill and commitment. It also refers to the overseeing of the actions of another person with a view to ensure accomplishment of desired goals where mentoring and coaching are expected to occur. Another problem with supervision is power which comes affects the relationship between the supervisor and supervisee. Factors like social position, race, gender, social class and sexuality, Issues of subordinate positions of women affect the supervisory relationship. To solve this problem it has been advocated that someone with a similar background should do the supervisory job.(White, E. & Winstanley, J. 2010). APPLICATION OF THE CONCEPT TO CURRENT JOB (CLINICAL SUPERVISION): I have been a supervisor over the years and have gained some experience however I may not be aware of most of the things that are important to the supervisee who needs to learn a lot for me in the clinical setting. Therefore my disposition should be that of a humble supervisor to allow them reach me with their problems and answer some of their questions. I need to give the supervisee the opportunity to teach me as well. I will not feel that I am above learning from them. i should also encourage my staff to allow supervisee speak their mind and bring to bear what they have learnt in class that is not reflected in my hospital this will afford us the needed change we
