As the quarter progressed, these five weeks had been enormous journey for me. I learned a lot of new skills and methods as a writer in your class. The methods and skills I learned in this class were very beneficial and helpful to me to improve my writing; not only my writing, but also my critical thinking skills and creating skills. This reflection functions as a guide to the five weeks of my work in writing 39A class. My work in this class felt like a fast train ride as I thought I did well in my first major assignment, which was writing a poem, not outstanding, but capable enough to have a set of good commentary. However, when I did my second major assignment, when I got the feedback from draft one, I saw I did not do as well as I did in my first major assignment, so I had to review it again the way I wrote, so that way I can develop it better for draft two. I felt like my brain was dead and I was completely blanked out where I did not know where exactly to start writing the story. As before I thought it would be easy to write a story because it usually easy to create or develop things; however, for this time I was not able to think or create a fictional story, which made it so hard to write. It felt like the discussion post and the classroom group was much easier than creating a story or writing your own poem. In addition, discussion posts and classroom participation in large and small group were very helpful to me because it helped me a lot to understand the concept and assignment in a better way. For example, the large group discussion that was held in class on “Nick and the Candlestick” poem was very helpful to understand her poem by breaking into different stanzas instead of reading all in one.
