Nursing is a profession one cannot simply just choose to do. Nursing takes time, dedication, and compassion. Nursing isn’t a right, it is a privilege. Becoming a nurse has been my dream since I was little, and now I have received the opportunity to attend The University of Texas at Austin achieve my dreams.

For me, nursing runs deeper than the basics, I have an aspiration of becoming a Neonatal Nurse, a nurse who works with babies, and touching as many innocent lives that I can. I plan to be the best Neonatal Nurse around, I will impact the future generations’ lives in a positive manner, during their time of weakness. Some babies are born with birth defects and need more care than others, these are the babies that I want to work with, I want to watch them grow and accomplish feats that many people thought they wouldn’t. I won’t only be working with babies though, I will help their Mothers’ during the good and bad times. I will put others above myself and insure that they are receiving the best care possible. I am a hard worker and when the going gets tough I work harder so that I may prevail. I study for hours at a time so that I can ace my Anatomy and Physiology test, a simple seventy won’t suffice. I push myself to be the best that I can be; after all, if you’re going to do something, do it right. Many people say they have these trait; however, I prove it daily. Nursing takes more than studying though, it takes dedication, I am willing and ready to dedicate the time and effort it takes to reach my goal.
