Social media has become an inevitable part of life and has impacted modern society in innumerable ways. It is an online community that connects and allows people to have more interactions with their family and friends. Ruination is the physical or emotional ruin of a person which can have long term consequences. Nobody wishes to post about their clothes getting ruined on a rainy day or when they look supposedly unflattering in a picture. Many feel that this perception of life encourages young people to aspire towards experiences they deem to be Instagram worthy. There are many bloggers and Instagram-mers who post about their lives while travelling but that also remind the many young people who follow them that there is a hard truth behind their travels. Chances Cartell and Stevo Dirnberger are popular travel gurus who say that they want to paint an honest picture for anyone aspiring to do the same thing, in case the young generation thinks traveling is a non-stop glamorous fantasy. This shows that despite posts that may seem to support the youth in thinking that a comfortable life can come easily instead of working hard, there are a majority of posts on social media that encourages handwork and effort without blowing up their ambition. This shows the support they receive in studying hard and working in a focused manner towards their goals, through social media. Social media has helped to guide the young generation in their search for a purpose in life. It had been proven to support emotional harm that many of the young generation face. This shows us that social media does offer the young generation benefits that far outweigh the cons, therefore proving that social media alone is not the cause of the young generation’s
