As I take this journey in life I have so many supporters around me that has inspired me to live up to my dreams and within my dreams make sure that its beneficial to others as well. My heart is within working with children in the areas of career development, personal or social realm, and academic success. I decided to pursue this journey to be able to watch students grow and become a reliable leader in life. I dedicate myself to making a difference in student lives. I understand counseling may be very stressful and a low rewarding job. That being said, I’m passionate about working with children. I would like to offer them a wide variety of skills to help students succeed and look back as they get older and remember me as powerful influence to them. On the educational needs counselors are to enhance students' personal, social, and academic growth and to provide students with the life skills needed to deal with problems. A professional counselor must be compassionate, understanding, and nonjudgmental which would lead to great authenticity. Technology can be used as a supplement for counseling services. Students appear to engage differently when it comes to technology. It can provide counseling practice and a way for students to seek out information, communicate with friends, understand world events, and socialize through the use of technology. Therefore, technology is a way to reach a larger population in various ways. I see this program addressing the focus on insuring confidentiality while carrying out responsibilities to students and others. Making sure that guidelines and limitations are visible for students and parents to see.
