Although I know I want to teach there is more to the teaching profession than that. First, I have to learn the curriculum and then how to bring that material across to the students. The actual learning process comes naturally for me, but I had to stop and think about how I would bring it across once I become a teacher. This involves many aspects of my life and what I feel is important. I feel ones teaching philosophy pulls from every portion of an individuals belief system.
There are certainly distinct pieces of knowledge that all students need. Students may not always enjoy absorbing these pieces of knowledge, but hopefully there will be individualized interests that make the process easier. I hope to target the individual wants and needs of my students in order to make the entire learning process as enjoyable as possible. Education encompasses the most essential parts of life. Knowledge truly is power, especially in this day and age.
Overall I am fixing an issue in my life. I will forever believe change is always possible. The education part of change can be the most rewarding. However, if you haven’t noticed life is not one big high school. There is no teacher providing you with every decision you need to make to accomplish something.
Everyone has different views of education, but what they all have in common is how necessary it is when one wants to become a self-actualized individual. Education also plays an important role in getting a job in todays world and leading a self fulfilled life. Authors such as Bell hooks, Mike Rose, Jon Spayde, and Adrienne Rich all see education through the eyes of the excluded and emphasize the importance of education and what its really worth. I believe that education helps us achieve what we want to do but its actually up to each and every one of us to carry through. Every one of us could be educated but it doesnt necessarily mean that we learned anything to help us in the real world.
Education is defined differently by everyone. Some people believe it’s a way to simply make money, while others may think it’s just a way to gain knowledge. However, education is more than just those things. Education helps people constantly use their minds. It also provides people insight on life events, as well as, what is going on in the world around them.
What a student’s education means is up to the student. There is no right and wrong way to approach education, so let them choose. Challenge students to challenge the system, question “the man”, and encourage them to discover their pathway to
Because there is no miracles in the life people live in, everyone has to work their butts off to do what they want or desire. everything is for a reason and education has been around since the world was created. Education provides the blueprint and path to greatness. Without education there would be no professions or money. People wouldn’t have anything to strive for.
Education is the foundation of advancements both personal and societal in nature that allow people and ideas to grow. Without the basis of knowledge ideas cannot grow properly and it becomes extremely difficult to develop world views and find a sense of self. In order to become truly educated one must put aside preconceived notions and possess a willingness to challenge internal ideas and beliefs. Accepting that no one individual can be highly educated regarding every topic and that it is okay to be ignorant on certain topics as long as that ignorance is acknowledged is a characteristic common amongst educated people. Education is traditionally thought of occurring only in a classroom and focusing on information that can be
I do not believe a child is predestined to have a certain amount of intelligence, but that every child has the potential to be a “gold”, we just need to find the key to unlock that potential. If teachers set high expectations for their students, the students will give their best, but if teachers set low expectations, the students will not try to exceed these expectations. ... ... middle of paper ... ...mentary school. At the same time, I never want to be satisfied. When I reach one goal, I’ll always set another one.
This is not to say I would not teach to my best ability, I feel that I will have little room to teach the way I wish to and still accomplish teaching the curriculum. Students must learn to be responsible, respectful, open minded, and honest. I believe that there are no greater lessons than life lessons. I will possess the ability to teach my students how to be role models in society and that is a reason in itself to wake up each morning and teach. There will be the best and worst days of your life; these are not important once you step into the school
