Global Warming and its Effects Just as we think our atmosphere might be getting better we realize that its getting worse due to global warming and we just happen to realize it now. There are many different reasons to why and how global warming is happening, but the main reason of global warming is the Greenhouse effect. Greenhouse effect is when the atmosphere of the Earth traps some of the heat coming from the sun. This happens due to burning fuels, cutting trees, and the concentration of heat on the Earth. There are many other causes to global warming such as air pollution, Melting of the Glaciers, Human Activities and even Industrial Advancement that have affected climate change.
So the co2 and burning gases causes the increase of global warming (http://www.nmsea.org/Curriculum/Primer/Global_Warming/fossil_fuels_and_global_warming.htm) Radiations: Radiations also increase the global warming. Some elements emitted radiations naturally so that the temperature of is increased. : Melting of the ice caps : loss of habitat near the poles. Polar bears are now thought to be greatly endangered by the shortening of their feeding season due to dwindling ice packs. Greenhouse gases: Greenhouse gases are the the gases that block the ultraviolet rays coming from the sun on earth.
Such consequences include our planet getting hotter, melting of large glaciers, wildlife suffering or even the inverse effect which could trigger an ice age. With that, we should take global warming step by step and educate people about it because most people do not even know what it is or that there is a problem. Our earth is protected by a large ozone (o3) layer in the atmosphere which deflects life threatening UV rays that are given off by the sun. Without this layer we wouldn't be able to exist as an ecosystem and all life would go extinct. "Greenhouse gases, which have built up to unnaturally high levels in the atmosphere, trap heat.
Global warming is a war that we should not get involved with because we will lose if changes aren’t made soon. Global warming is the rapid increase in earth’s average surface temperature over the past century due to the fact that greenhouse gases are being released into the atmosphere increasing the earth’s average temperature (EarthObservatory.NASA.org). There are many contributing factors that play a role into the cause of global warming. Greenhouse gasses are gasses such as Carbon Dioxide, Methane, Nitrous Oxide, and F-gasses that trap heat in the atmosphere. The heat that is trapped in the earth’s atmosphere is a slowly melting glaciers, cause sea levels to rise and is messing with the weather patterns.
Climate change is the long term variations in the weather patterns. Climate itself adjusts time to time however going at wrong path since many years because of regular loss of huge ice sheets. Earlier the earth atmosphere was covered with ice sheets which were able to make the earth atmosphere cool by preventing earth from heat and sending back extra heat out of the space from the earth. Climate has changed from cooler to warmer over the last two million years in the cyclical manner. Sun is the ultimate source of heat energy which fuelling the weather systems after reaching to the earth.
The increase of pollution causes a large outcome to the atmosphere which are the gases, also it could change the climate completely and it pattern in the future (Long et al. 2014). In addition, some people think that the Arctic ice melting cause sea level increasing and threaten some animal nature. On the other hand, as long they say the gases are polluting the atmosphere and weaken the atmosphere layer which caused into an increase of temperature are completely false, the world record in temperature is way lower than the past as some countries had a record of the lowest temperature point. Moreover, according to (“Is there global warming”, 2000) there were no sign for global warming for the past 12 years, also, the population of polar bears that lives in the Arctic ice did not change as they all moved into land.
On top of the warming due to greenhouse gases, there are also holes in our O-Zone layer, which blocks out over 90% of the UV rays, and also the weakening of our atmosphere. What is global warming? Usually when people think of Global warming, it's the normal Ice Caps melting and warm winters, which is partly true. Global Warming is the accelerated rate in the increase of temperature. But they are ignorant to the fact that Global warming can and will cause so much more damage to us soon in the future, along with these effects we will also face Food Shortages from the extreme weathers, heating that can actually damage you, and water contamination.
Global warming is a big problem in today’s world and its hindering the quality of life for every species. It affects their habitats and environments. Temperature rises and changing landscapes in the arctic circle are endangering several species of animals. Only the most adaptable will survive. If we fail to cut back on the burning of fossil fuels, such as oil and coal, scientists say during the 21st century earth could warm up to an additional 7.2 degrees Fahrenheit.
If there were no greenhouse gasses, very few rays would be absorbed and the earth would be extremely cold. When too many rays are absorbed the earth’s atmosphere heats up and it causes what we know as global warming. Al Gore (2006) described the greenhouse effect as the potentially most dangerous environmental problem facing mankind, with consequences second only to nuclear war (p.299). As the name suggests, global warming isn’t merely affecting parts of the world, it is threatening the world globally. Most of the rays from the sun are absorbed by water vapor that is naturally in our atmosphere.
Global warming has caused many problems to the earth in addition to the humans that live here on the earth. A problem caused by global warming is very hot summers. Some summers have had days that the temperature had reached 30*C. Another Problem that global warming has caused is the melting of polar ice caps. Global warming caused the polar ice caps to melt which will cause the ice to break free as well as melt in the sea, sea levels all over the world will rise. Lastly, global warming has started to break down the ozone layers.
