Have we ever wonder what the word “happiness” really mean? It’s not something that can be bought off a market or traded, yet everyone seeks it out on the earth. Happiness isn’t something that can be bottled away and used for future usage such as water or sand. It’s something that can’t be grasped in one’s hand either. I ask, what is happiness? How does one person know if he or she has comprehend this emotion we call happiness?
Happiness in the dictionary states, “The quality or state of being happy” but what does this mean? Wealth in its own ways can buy happiness, for example, a Good Samaritan donating two-hundred thousand dollars of his own fortunes to a local homeless shelter. This action can allow one to feel at peace knowing he or she has done an honorable deed for others he or she may not even know. On the other hand, owning a brand new 2016 Audi R8 or a brand new 70 inch 4K television are the status symbols of great wealth. However, these do not guarantee anyone a happy life. People who have tons of money and success may still feel unhappy, and on the other hand poor people can be living happily in their own ways. A famous quote from Abraham Lincoln says, “Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to…show more content… For example, if there’s another person in your life that you hold dear to your heart, that makes you laugh and smile. This is one of the many routes to finding your true happiness. Life, in addition, is short. In this time we must search for our happiness in our limited time. Why would anyone want to live without searching for their happiness? You will be living on the other side of the wall of being happy. Allowing loneness, anger and depression into your life. That’s why you must search for it. If you find something that sincerely holds meaning to you, you should hold on to that till your ending day. It can’t be temporary neither, or something that will only last a week or two. It’s something you must allow to rest inside of you like a fire, forever burning. This is finding your happiness.
Being happy with yourself and who you have around you, is the determination you must studiously within yourself. Having a goal can lead you to happiness. Keeping a smiling on your face can attract happiness. Being active in the community can be your happiness. However, at the end of the day, no one will ever know how to find happiness unless you find it yourself. You must want it, yearn for it, and desire it to experience true
