As an effective leader I must plan for success and growth. My reflective leadership plan will include my personal plan for improvement as well as my professional plan. This paper will highlight my personal strengths and weaknesses as a leader, identify the areas needed for improvement, and classify the leadership skills and practices that I will use to become an effective leader. I am able to identify many areas where my strengths are. For instance, I often use the positivity talent on the balcony level which plays a major role in my personal and professional life. Being the first person to smile, seeing the glass full and celebrating every achievement landed me the most significant and most influential leadership role in my life as the Program Coordinator at SUNY Canton.
Being energetic, happy and humorous allows me to be relatable and create a culture that others want to be around. Having the ability to motivate a group of people toward a common goal and participate in social activities on campus is a key aspect of being an effective leader. Students and colleague will respond better working with a leader that finds different ways to make everything more exciting and more vital.
Responsibility is foremost sought characteristic that all employers look for when hiring or choosing the right candidate for a position.
