The most obvious objective would be to be hired, but you should think beyond this as well. It might seem rather obvious, but researching and preparing a plan to physically getting to the job interview can guarantee you actually arrive on time. While the employer might provide you with the opportunity to come in on another day, if you have a valid reason, you might not always be as lucky. Therefore, if you want to guarantee you don’t miss out on the career of your dreams only because you didn’t show up. In addition, you are able to practice the route, ensuring you know exactly what the address and the fastest walking route to the building is going to be.
• Gives you enough time to calm the nerves. Job interviews are stressful, especially when you want to do well and get a job offer at the end of the process. You’ll be nervous about remembering your research on the role, giving a good impression, and impressing the interviewers with your skills and knowledge – you don’t want to add to the stress by having to think whether you are on time. By researching logistics and drawing up a plan, you can ensure you are confident about getting there on time and having a few moments to just calm down and taking a breather before heading into the interview. You would have had enough time to get there on time and you won’t be taking deep breathes throughout your interview.
