Obesity in the United States
Obesity is a medical condition in where excess body fat has accumulated in such mass that it may have negative effects on health and issues in society. Obesity is primarily running rampant in the United States of America. The United States is the #1 ranked country for the most overweight and obese people in the world. Obesity has detrimental effects to your health which include health problems, psychological problems, and even issues with the economy and your own personal wealth.
Obesity causes health problems in the United States such as an increased risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure. Between the ages of 12 and 19 years type 2 diabetes has been increasing. Fifty-eight percent of children that were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes were obese. Coronary artery disease is more common in obese people because the fat deposits build up in the arteries that supply blood to the heart, which in turn slows the rate of blood flow down.
