Qualities of a Good Leader When asked, “What is a leader?” one may think of a person in charge of running a country while another may think of a person in charge of a group project in school. Whatever kind of leader a person may think of, the leader has to have certain qualities to be a sufficient candidate for the job. “What are these qualities?” you may ask. It’s all a matter of opinion and the situation given. A person in charge of a country may not need the same qualities of a person in class doing a project with a group of classmates. In Macbeth, act IV scene iii, Malcolm is telling Macduff the qualities a leader of a nation needs. Malcolm states, “But I have none: the king-becoming graces, |As justice, verity, temperance, stableness, | Bounty, perseverance, mercy, lowliness, | Devotion, patience, courage, fortitude,| I have no relish of them, but abound | In the division of each several crime, | Acting it many ways. This quality is important to possess to receive the desired result. Learning from past mistakes is important so you know not to do it again in the future.
