Hunting is the trapping or killing of any animal with the intentions of doing so. It can trace its history back to the beginning of man. Hunting started way before people started keeping animals for food, which is called agriculture. Hunting was, and still is a way for people to get a good meal and have fun at the same time. Hunting has changed in many ways over time, from the weapons, animals hunted, areas to hunt, all the way to the viewpoints and laws. Hunting has a long history. It dates back all the way to the beginning of man. Evidence from Western Kenya suggests that hunting has been occurring for more than two million years. When humans started hunting, there wasn't any laws or restrictions. For example, you can only kill a certain number of animals per season. A season normally lasts a few months. Native tribes and groups are allowed one or two animals per year, for their rituals and sacrifices. For a few hundred years, there have been laws restricting the killing of certain kinds of animals, hunting on certain dates, and the places to hunt the animals. There are now open seasons for every kind of animal. The weapons that are used have changed to. When people began hunting, they used things like spears, hand-made bows, stones, and traps made from trees. They didn't have functioning guns, cross-bows, metal snares, or any manufactures tools to hunt with. The organization raises money for researches and studies. "Save the elephants" as been around since about twenty-three Many organizations like this one try to stop hunting. In February of 2004, an act started. It's called "Hunting act of 2004". This was an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It was an act that banned the hunting of mammals such as red foxes, monks, deer, and hares. Many other places are trying to ban hunting. There are many debates about it. That it's cruel, harsh, uncaring, or selfish. Then there are the hunters and ones who support it, who say that it isn't cruel, harsh, or selfish. The people who talk negatively about it, see it as a thing that people do to look cool or do it just for fun.
