Gender gap in general means diffrence in earnings, whereby males usually earns significantly more than females. In last decade gap between males and females has been closing very significantly but it still exist today in various areas as salary, education or health. (tigtog, 2007, gender gap). This essay will be talking about gender gap between Norway being at the top 5 countries with closest gender gap and Australia ,which has been ranked 36 out of 145 countrys in a world last year. (WOF, 2015)

Enrolment in EOCD countrys isnt that big of a deal because its mandatory in most cases till age of 16. However it could be said boys are more likely to quit after age of 16 (EOCD, 2012). Outcomes between females and males in Norway is almost 93% of the gap in education (WEF). Around 60% of higher educatied people in Australia are females (2015, gender gap in education). Norway is very succesfull in closing gender gap in education. 82% of adults in Norway managed to succesfully finish upper secondary education, which is even more then EOCD average (76%). This is more case for females then males, where 81% of males and 83% of females finished high school. Norway females has achieved better score in Programme for International Student Assessment by 16 points then males and it is also higher by 8 points then EOCD avarage. However, Australia isnt very far away behind Norway, where 77% of all adults finished upper secondary education, which is almost EOCD average. 79% goes to females and only 76% to males. Also on average Australia has scored 512 points in reading literacy, science and maths in the EOCD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), which is also more then EOCD average.
