The first day of school is the most important day for the student and teacher. In my classroom I would like to have an introduction assignment that the students can fill out. I will put important questions on there that will allow me to get to know each of my student 's better. You have to be able to know each student, so that you can learn about who they are, how they best learn, and what their home life is like. You may be faced with a child that has parents that don 't promote learning at home and if I don 't ask a question like, “Do your parents help you study at home,” I may not learn that until later in the year. If they display bad behavior they 'll be a consequence that goes along with it. I like that in the book Fay how they believe discipline should be handle. In my classroom I don 't want to take away from any learning time. As a teacher I will give myself and the student who promoted bad behavior enough time to cool down before handling the situation. Once I have time, and only on my time that is when I will address the issue. In case of me having to be absence the students will know what they are suppose to be doing and can help the sub if needed. As a teacher you want your students to want to be on their best behavior at all times and want to make you proud. I want my students to respect me as I will do the same for them. This will only make for a good learning environment and a great school year. I feel that if I give the students jobs and responsibilities they will want to work that much harder in the
