In Texas, the government has not yet been able to set up a fair budget system that is equal for both male and female. This has been an ongoing process since the time of segregation, when people were not being treated as equal. Texas has had issues dealing with pay equity, not only that but the national government in Texas has not approached this issue properly, there are many other methods of how Texas can approached this issue.
Through the course of time people have not been treated as equal. Ever since women had the right to work, in the workforce they have been under paid. There are many tolls that play a role on this issue such as discrimination, race, and gender. Texas has without a doubt made improvements on this issue but people still aren’t been treated as equals. This issue has gone on since slavery was abolished and women had the right to vote and work. According to Emma Gray, “There aren’t any states where women earn as much as man”, in USA. This means that there is no true equality when it comes to the wage of men vs women. In fact, “did you know that in 2015, women working full time in the United States typically were paid just 80 percent of what men were paid, a gap of 20 percent?” Not only that but, “the pay gap is worse for women of color” (Gray 2). According to debate.org; some people argue that men are more “hardworking” than women; therefore, they believe men need to earn a higher salary (4). Though this may be true in “some” cases but, this isn’t true in every situation. As a matter of fact, there are some cases where women work harder than males do.
