Christmas to me is a celebration, which includes spending time with my family, decorating the entire house, inside and out, and shopping, for the people I love. Doing this with the people I love is what means the most to me. Spending Christmas with my family is very important to me. We usually gather and celebrate at my parent’s house, in East Tennessee. My husband, our three children, and myself travel from California.
After the dinner, football games and socializing us then put up our Christmas tree. This allows us all to be able to take pictures of the grandchildren or children part taking in putting ornaments on the tree. My second family tradition is that every year we attend a family reunion. This allows everyone on the family to come together and appreciate what we have. We often make goodies and create a large pot luck.
As soon as the first day came around we were already begging for the tree to be brought up the steps and put up. My mom was always annoyed putting up the Christmas tree because of how big
Her rich father kept his promise, and Ashputtle placed the hazel branch over her mother’s grave, and cried to water it. The hazel branch would soon grow into a beautiful tree, and Ashputtle would weep and prey under it three times a day. Each time that Ashputtle made a wish, a little bird would throw down what she had wished for. Later on, the king had planned a celebration where his son, the prince, would choose his bride, and invited all of the beautiful girls in the kingdom to come. Ashputtle asked her step-mother if she could go to the wedding, but she said no.
My most vivid childhood memory was undoubtedly Christmas. Christmas was always a big event in my family. The holidays were always spent making crafts, decorating, and spending time with family members, and it was something I really enjoyed. As a child, my favorite part about Christmas was the presents, food, and family around. Every year on Thanks-Giving my mother, brother, and I would make a colorful Christmas chain to count down the days until Christmas.
His whole year is one long wait for Christmas. His favorite part of Christmas is the tree. We all go together and cut down the "perfect" tree. The problem is that Dad's perfect tree is based on criteria known to him. This always leads to tears on someone's part.
Since then, I found ways to explore more about myself through my culture. Every year, my family and I celebrate all of our Nepali festivals. I thank my mom for this because she is the one that makes sure my brother and I don’t forget our roots. All of my relatives live in Nepal and I don’t get to see them often or celebrate the festivals with them. But it has made me realize that I need to stay close to my family and being with family makes me happy.
Christmas comes around once each year but there is a lot to do before Christmas Day. Christmas Day is December 25th and usually people start counting down the days till Christmas starting on December 1st. Of course, my family is different. We start counting down the days till Christmas right after Thanksgiving Day. Christmas is by far my favorite holiday for various reasons, one being that I love decorating our Christmas tree.
Christmas time is a special time of the year for everyone. It is the holiday season, and everyone is rushing to buy the perfect gifts for that one special person. A lot of people’s favorite day of the year is Christmas due to the gifts. In my family, it 's our favorite day because it is the one day of the year all eight of us are all together. My parents always managed to make Christmas a special day for us, no matter how much money they had.
Christmas is my favorite holiday because of the traditions my families and I celebrate that include our Christmas Eve routine, Christmas morning routine, and giving back to our community. Everyone has a Christmas Eve routine. Christmas Eve starts with getting ready for mass. My family is Catholic, so Christmas Eve mass is always long. Christmas Eve mass starts at around 6 o’clock, and usually gets over at around 8 o’clock.
