Truth exists in all religions to a certain extent. Islam is no exception. There are many similarities to Christianity found in Islam. However, there are also differences. This paper will explore the beliefs, practices, and origins of Islam and compare it with Christianity. In addition, this paper will shine light on how Christians should treat Muslims and still give full honor and glory to God.
When Islam is mentioned, many times images of old mosques, caravans of camels and horses, and men in long robes pops into mind. These pictures all have an old-testament feel to them. The reasoning for this is Islam is considered an old religion, one that dates back to creation. However, it is actually one of the younger religions in the world, even newer than Christianity. Muhammad, the founder of Islam, was born 570 years after Christ’s death and resurrection. Though Muhammad is the most important man in the Islamic faith, he is not worshipped. Everyone on this earth is a child of God, a prince or princess whether or not the believe and accept the One True God. Thus they deserve our respect and love. This does not mean that their faith and practices should just be accepted and ignored. No! On the contrary, since they are our brothers and sisters through God, we should strive to show them the way the truth and the light.
