Career Fair Reflection

On February 21, 2018 was the annual spring career fair. The career fair is a very important event for students even if they are not graduating. This allows a student to get an idea of what jobs they can get after graduation. This can even help with the decision of your career focus. I am currently a junior in college and I have attended the career fair every semester since I have been here. I enjoy going and hearing about all the jobs that are related to my field. There are many ways that the career fair related to social psychology because the career fair is set on social interactions. One thing that related from the book was transformational leadership. Which is found in chapter 8 (p. 302). This is when the leader has significant influence, vision, and inspiration among the employees (Myers, 2013). This is evident in the career fair because the business has chosen leaders to come inspire students to be a part of their company. They promote the visions of the agency and what their services are. They intend to motivate students to think about their company and consider working there after college or even for an internship. …show more content…

This theory is explained as interactions between humans that tend to aim to maximize a person reward and minimize their costs (Myers, 2013). I had seen this at the career fair because people were trying to get people to join their team. This would maximize their reward because they would have more people working for them so they would be able to have more clients. This means that they would make more money by having the ability to take on more clients. They would also get their name out there more by having the ability to take on more clients. This would minimize their costs because they would not lose very much by getting more
