Electricity is used as fuel to run all electric vehicles (EV). Electrical vehicles have one or more electric motors, they are used to power the car. Electricity is stored in rechargeable battery packs. Electric vehicles follow a very basic principle, the electric motors are directly connected to wheels and powered by electricity. They don’t involve any complicated drive shafts and engines. Whereas internal combustion engines (ICEs) use petrol or diesel to power a car. The process involved in gasoline car is complicated when compared to that electric vehicles. Electrical vehicles were been in existence from a long time but they entered into the global market only a decade back. Electric vehicles has zero emissions, they provide a quiet, smooth and strong acceleration than gasoline cars, the money spent on the maintenance is also very low than gasoline cars. Unlike gasoline cars electric cars don’t have an engine this makes them light weight and reduce the weight on the car and increase space for luggage. Electric vehicles can be charged at home over the night and as electric grids are available almost anywhere we can charge the car. Although charging stations are not abundant as gas stations electric car manufactures and government are working to expand the network of charging stations rapidly. The number of charging stations available in 2014 was above 8,800. The batteries used are expected to give a mileage of over 100,000 per year. Electric car not only contribute to reduce pollution they also reduce noise pollution.
