Technology is something that has changed our lives in the last decades. This includes cell phones, internet, laptops, etc. Since its improvement, technology as a whole has been dramatically changed and is now vital since it also makes lives much easier. Technology overload could certainly be associated with being anti-social. People tend to forget the outside world and the excitements of it because they are too concentrated on their devices and slowly start to become anti-social. There are several ways on how to best cope with technology overload; make use of it only at the work place, use the devices safely. Technology devices should only be used in the work place because some people focus so much on their work that they forget they have families waiting for them at home, these are workaholics and even once they get home they still in their technological world and what they must do in this case is to turn off their cell phones devices in order to spend some quality time with their families. This also applies when being around people or friends whether it’s a meeting, or lunch, it is very important to be considerate towards others and not have your phone in your hand all the time as this is considered to be rude and impolite. Another way to deal with technology overload is while driving. In this situation it is essential or even crucial not to use technology devices on the wheel because is not only dangerous for the driver itself, but also for the passengers if there are any and for the other drivers on the street. When receiving a call while driving, the best thing to do is to put the phone on speakers, or have somebody else hold it for you, but it would be better not to answer the phone at all since the conversation itself is... ... middle of paper ... ... reduced. In order to avoid any effects in one’s health, is highly advisable to get used to do a few things, among them, leave the electronic devices far from ones bedroom. Another thing would be to use headphones or speakers whenever possible to avoid direct contact with the device. Additionally to the previous possible preventions, use the mobile phone as little as possible. For instance, instead of having long phone conversations, use alternatives such as text messages or emails. To conclude, I believe that the best way to reduce radiation, since it cannot be fully removed, is by doing one of those things; talk less on the phone and send more emails. Living without electronic devices in our modern lives would be almost impossible because it has become indispensable for all of us. Doing those little thing every day, might help decrease radiation in one’s body.
In conclusion, the usages of cell phones can pose a higher risk for producing tumors, damaging the brain, and even getting cancer. Radiofrequency energy emitted from cell phones can cause changes in the activity of brain cells, causing people to have symptoms that cause uncontrollable health disabilities. The tissues in the body that absorb radiation from cell phones, can definitely be unsafe for the body. Cell phones radiation can enable the formation of tumors to take effect in the body if someone is constantly exposed to the radiation energy for long periods of time. People should be limiting their usages on their cell phones throughout the day, and keep their phone as far away from their body as possible when making a call to reduce any risk of cancer from the radiation.
Cell phones in hand, and laptops so small they fit in purses. Computers at our homes insure we can get on the internet and surf the web for answers for anything that may need to know. As the growth of technology has evolved the past twenty years we have become more dependent upon it for everyday things. From alarms, calendars, ‘googling’, counting our steps to make sure we stay healthy, connecting us to our friends and family; simple things that we often take for granted. Though our lives are often ruled by the various technology pieces out there to keep us ‘grounded during the day, some pieces of technology are not healthy for our bodies and minds.
Christine Rosen goes through and gives you examples of how cell phones make you feel dependent on them, distract you in ways of the road, and how it makes others feel around you when you are on your phone. After going through a number of articles about location use and cell phones, how they effect your relationships, and how they make you feel more social connected, you start to see how they take away from your day to day relationships. Although cell phones maybe beneficial when the time is right, being addicted to your cell phone can result in you losing an emotional attachment to those around you. When with the people you care about you want to make them feel secure and confident in you and when you are constantly checking your cell phone for the latest gossip, you are taking away the interpersonal connection you have from one another. Society needs to learn to just put their cell phones down and not let it distract them from their safety, relationships, and those around

How much can technology impact your social life? Who would of thought that technology would affect life in such a major way? Little did people know that technology can impact the way humans interact with each other. While listening to music and playing games on their mobile devices, how many people actually get to know one another while standing right next to each other? A small ride on a metro or bus ride will show you just how little interaction goes on in a humans life do to the amount of use on their mobile devices. The role technology plays in socializing has a great impact on people’s interaction. People can be standing right next to each other with out saying one word to one another. While waiting for the next class to start or even during the class, people tune out the rest of the world and this can lead up to social isolation. Technology has had a bad impact on the way humans socialize because it causes people to be less interactive. Social isolation is a health condition that can become very severe and lead up to depression, anxiety, despair and many other things. Social isolation can be avoided if technology is limited to use at only appropriate times as when bored, alone or incase of an emergency you would use cell phones.
Talking on the phone while driving is a distraction that endangers people's lives. A driver only receives 50% of the information when talking to a passenger (Ewan, 2012). The driver reads the hand gestures and the facial expressions of the passenger. This gives them an idea of what the passengers are trying to saying. There is not much mental effort needed, because the driver can guess. Talking on the phone requires more mental effort, because the driver can not see the person they are talking to. The mental effort used to talk on the phone and driving increases the risk of a mistake happening. Using a hands-free phone is only 7% less of a distraction than a handheld cellphone (Mead, 2013). The talking on the phone is the distraction, not the handling and dialing of the phone itself. Researchers have found people who splitting their attention between the road and the person they are talking to causes mental stress leading to accidents. Hands-free ce...
Firstly, cell phones are a useful object when needed in an emergency. When parents need to contact their kids, they have access to talk with them on their cell phones. After reading the article “Technology Etiquette in the Workplace” By Ellen Reddick, I realize that I am in violation of many technology etiquette guidelines. One guideline I violate quite frequently is I do not turn away from the computer when holding a conversation. Even though most of the time I am doing work while conversing, I should be able to make time for people after I finish my work. In the article it says, “If you’re working on your laptop and someone enters the room to talk to you, close your laptop and focus on them” (Reddick, 2011 p.8). Even though we have computers at school, I still have to learn how to turn away from it, and I have to learn to focus on the person talking. Another guideline I violate with my phone is texting when it is not urgent. Being an average American teenager I am connected to my phone; I’m almost connected by the hip quite literally. It says in the article, “When you send people a text, in most cases you are interrupting them...If you are going to interrupt someone, make sure you

By making just one of these changes during the day you will feel as though you have a new freedom from being attached to your cell phone.
