Millions of people adore their cell phones so much that they spend more time texting, calling, playing games, listening to music, and going on social media than they do sleeping. Before the late 19th century, no one had even heard of what a telephone was. Now, over 90% of Americans own a digital cell phone and use it daily. All over the world, cell phones are growing rapidly in popularity due to the vast improvements but concerns such as deadly distractions also increase.
Although I love my phones, but I have seen bad accident happens because of cell phones. The government made rules about cell phones, but not everyone fallows them. Eventually, I was reading this article on Facebook about a teen whom got shock by his cell phone, which popped his vain and hospitalized him. According to Anderson Cooper interview with Sanjay Gupta, they states that having your cell phone tightly to your ear is dangerous because more radio wave is being push to your ear which is bad for the brain. More important, Sanjay says, “It’s good to read the phones manual, because some phones states the range the phones supposed to be next to your ear.” For example the Blackberry manual states to keep the device at least .98 inches away from your body. Above all, teen and adults today are not being careful with their cell phones. At very street there are always a person with their eyes on their phone, without looking where they are going, it later becomes the reason for their death. In fact, when the phone goes to waste, it becomes a problem to the environment if not recycled properly. Since the battery is made with lead, their lithium-ion can explode if stayed in the sun too much. Above all, since we are so addicted to our cell phones, it becomes one of our bad habits, and it later influence our grammar. Cell phones is a device that we can’t live without, although we have tried so hard to overcome it, but our intentions are always on it. Whether cell phones are good or bad, but remember it is the one product that keeps everyone connected at the palm of your
In a world that is rapidly becoming faster paced, finding various means to keep up with the changing environment is a must. Cell phones are one of the most practical inventions of time that make this possible. However, the subtle effect they have on our culture today, their invasion of our privacy, and the possible health risks they may cause are reasons to reassess the value of this intriguing device. While cell phones may be valuable, they are also potentially harmful.
Today’s society accepted phones so fast and easily, that most of the things that can harm us, are actually some of our social norms that we don’t even realize we are doing. Cell phones can have effects on the way people think and act, their interactions with people in society, and the amount information people retain from the direct result of multi-tasking. Cell phones are a very important asset to people, and good resources of information, but they can have negative effects on people such as depression, anxiety, and addiction to the use of the cell phone. Distractions from cell phone use have also been linked to many motor vehicle accidents as well. Cell phones were created to make our lives better, and more efficient, but do they harm us more than help
“There are almost 180 million cell phone users and it is rapidly expanding” (Betancourt). Nearly every student in the United States owns a cell phone. Cell phones have been around for forty years. The first cell phone was placed by Martin Cooper in 1973. Cell phones become increasingly popular as the twenty-first century technology becomes more advance. People in younger generation rely on cell phone to accomplish basic needs. Some even becomes addictive to the cell phone. For example, I have a cousin who considers cell phone as an important part of her daily life. If I ask her to put away her cell phone, she would complain “I can’t live without my cell phone.” Cell phone should be prevented from using excessively because if cell phone is used in an improper way, it would ultimately becomes a distraction device for students. Therefore, students would be lack in interpersonal relationship, distracted during class, which can lead to academic failure, and distracted while driving, which can lead to serious accident and death. The negative impacts of cell phone on students are significant matters that need to be addressed.
Cell phones have gradually become a large part of a person’s life. A person’s day usually starts and ends by using a phone. People may argue that this is false, but for many, their alarm is on their phone, and that is the first sound they hear in the morning, followed by the action of turning it off. Even looking at the time of day requires someone to turn on their phone. Even though a cell phone might be the most innovative item on the market that makes everyone’s lives easier, it could end up harming them from many different aspects. This paper will focus on scientific, economic, and environmental point of views.
I believe cell phones play an important role in our society’s evolution in communication and has fundamentally changed the way we achieve this task. However I firmly presume that we need to use this technology responsibly. Cell phones have many great uses, but when used improperly this amazing invention can be your worst
These are just some of the issues that come along with the use of mobile devices. Other issues that have arose are the need for text stops and law that prohibit the use of cell phones while driving (1, 2). People have now become so dependent on mobile devices that they feel they are missing a limb when they don't have the device in their possession (3). These are some of the more serious issues while some minor ones include: excessive use and a lack of patients because information is just a tap away (4). The excessive use of cell phones leads to other harmful effects such as a loss in studies because of excessive texting, calling, and being on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram. With these distractions students are not giving their studies their full attention, which then leads to poor grades. While the use of cell phones does have some good qualities the bad out weigh them.
Ever since the invention of the first cell phone in 1973, the use of cell phones has increased and it has changed the way people communicate drastically. Cell phones are a portable device that uses frequencies to send and receive calls and text messages over two devices and it has been regarded as the most commonly used portable device. Cell phones use and emit radio waves and microwaves so inevitably, this begs the question of whether or not cell phones are dangerous. There has been many concerns that the use of cell phones can cause brain tumours and/or other health risks, so over the past many years scientists from all over the world have conducted researches and are still researching to see if there are any links between cell phones and cancer and to figure out if cell phones really are dangerous.
Tweets, texts, and the virtual world are beginning to engulf human society one message at a time. For the past ten years, the estimated phone usage per day has become three to four hours. Those precious hours add up quickly, resulting in a total of one hundred and twelve hours per month spent staring at an animated screen. Children, teens, and even adults are beginning to use their cell phones more and more, and are putting themselves at a greater risk of developing social awkwardness, little persistence, and becoming known as digital natives; all these traits driven within your hand held partner.
The cell phone is a great thing. Did you know that about 90% of the population owns a cell phone(Madrigal, Alexis C)? Our society is affected greatly by the use of cellphones in such ways as; sleep deprivation, communication, and Distraction. There are many things that the cell phone is good for but there are just as many negatives that come from them, if not there are more. The number of people who own cell phones has gone up about 27% since year 2004(Madrigal, Alexis C).
A cell phone is a device that can make and receive telephone calls over a wide range of area through telephone connection wires available at certain places in a country. Many people are worried about the risks of carrying cell phones. In this research, some of the important points about the risks of cell phones are covered. My focus is on two points one of which is finding out why cell phones are a risk to our health and some of the ways in which we can prevent being harmed by them.
As everyone knows we are surrounded by the new technology called Cell Phones. Everywhere you look there is someone talking, playing a game, paying a bill or browsing the internet with their cell phones. Even children are well acquainted with tools and amenities of the object. Due to so many facilities provided by mobile phones nowadays, the abundant part of users becomes sightless about the history, the effects in the future and diseases it might cause in our health.
Every day of our lives, we watch as technology advances in leaps and bounds, so it was only logical when the cell phone came into existence, it would also be necessary to develop ways for a phone to be more than just a phone. With the explosion of the internet age people needed a way to bring their computers on the go, one that could fit in the palm of their hand. Whether it be checking emails, updating social networks or even playing games, smartphones seem to do it all. There is, however, a dark side to every technological advance that is made, to everything that makes our lives more convenient. Smartphones are not only an enormous distraction in our lives but are also known to cause health problems in those
