Kindness and compassion are two words that can have a lasting impact on people, especially coming from a manager to his or her employees and vice versa. It also helps if employees are warm-hearted and forgiving towards their co-workers as well. The purpose of this assignment is to provide an example of an act of kindness, compassion, and forgiveness toward others in the workplace. Kindness, compassion, and forgiveness are characteristics of the new man. Colossians 3:12 states, “Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering (NKJV).” As Christians who represent God on this earth, individuals must clothe themselves with gentleness and affection. In so doing, people will strengthen their character and exemplify Christ in their actions. Ephesians 4:32 states, “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you (NKJV).” Christians are commanded to be kind, compassionate, and forgiving it is embedded in the DNA of all born-again believers. Jesus Christ provided the perfect example of forgiveness, empathy, care, and concern for fellow men and women. Kindness and compassion must be presented in two ways. Having been employed and dedicated to this company for ten years, one of the hardest things the writer had to do, was to forgive the owners. In fact, they were deceptive in the way they handled this situation. Yes, the flesh wanted to rule and reign and not show compassion or forgiveness; but thanks to the Word of God that was hidden in the writer’s heart, Christians values were upheld.
