The United States is made up of many races, cultures, and a variety of people. This country is also made up of immigrants who migrate from all over the world. Millions of illegal’s are living in the country and paying taxes even when they are not citizens of the country, yet they don’t have any rights to vote, go to college, carry handguns or any full rights under the United States constitution. For years immigrants have been coming to the United States to find a “better” life for their families and themselves. Being born in this country is what all illegal immigrants dream of because of the possibilities that could be presented to them. Being an undocumented immigrant does not make it acceptable for human beings to live in a country and be stripped of their rights. In 1808, 50,000 African Americans were the first illegal immigrants that were brought to the United States. Unfortunately, they didn’t come voluntarily, but as slaves (Daniels). In 1992, INS said about 3.4 million unauthorized residents were in the country; in 2007 they said about 7 million unauthorized residents came in the year of 2000. Mexico is the largest source of illegal immigrants, out of the 8 million illegal aliens, 5.3 million came from Mexico.
The positive side to having immigrants is that they fill up low-wages jobs really quickly; they will work some of the worst jobs just to put food on the table for their family and undocumented immigrants pay taxes on time. Some negative events that take place with undocumented immigrants are that they bring an increased crime route among the population. Schools are losing money because they also teach immigrant’s children. The nation’s hospitals are all giving charity treatment causing them to lose money.
In today’s environment, children come to this country to support their grandparents or elder relatives. There has been an estimate of 1.7 million
