Why There Should Be No Homework Schools should not have any homework assignments for students. They are not really necessary, they do not help that much. I will give you evidence of why they should not have homework for school. This is my opinion of homework, I do not like the idea of homework, teachers grade you on how much you know about a subject or topic, homework is a waste of time for me. We can learn a topic by just reviewing it, no need for homework. Instead of filling paper work out, we can take a book and review what we learned already. Why I do not like homework is because every school night, I stay up till 1 am, doing my homework, there should be no reason for a young student to stay up late at night just to finish homework that …show more content…
They can help prepare the student for tests and quizzes. The information on the homework is on the quizzes and tests, the homework allows the student to practice and get ready for the tests. If they do good on homework, they are probably going to do good on tests. The information on the tests are on homework, so doing homework allows the students to practice and get ready for the tests or quizzes. Also, doing homework help the student by making the student more responsible, students help the student be responsible because if they complete the homework and turn it in on time, it will allow the student to be more responsible. Other than that, I do not think there are benefits for homework. I conclude that there should be no homework. The reasons supporting this calim are students do not get enough time to relax, that it reduces time spent with family, and lastly it causes conflict with parents. But there are benefits of doing homework. The reasons why they benefit students are because they help the students become more prepared for upcoming tests and quizzes. Also, they benefit the students by helping them become more responsible. There should not be any homework in school, I have approach to that conclusion because the evidence was enough and that the evidence spoke for
Many people often say that students, teachers, and parents, think homework should be banned, but multiple people disagree. This heated topic has been debated for many years. Some parents and teachers think students have too much. However, some believe their students receive too little. Few schools already have banned homework, but the majority of schools don’t. Some people agree with having ten minutes multiplied by the grade level of the student. As experts continue adding additional facts about homework, it is clear that homework can help students in different ways.
More than 70 percent of students have said that they have stress caused by homework
Homework: School work that a student is required to do at home. If so required than how do students have time to do anything else? Homework should be banned because it is bad for mental and physical health, also kids have other important things going on, and lastly it is very stressful for the parents. First of all, homework is bad for mental health and physical health. In the article “How Much Homework Is Too Much” by Sarah Caspari Staff, states “That a study published in the American Journal of Family Therapy state's ‘early elementary students are have far more homework than they should be having.
Many of the teachers give way too much homework, and do not realize that student have more homework other than theirs. They might have other classes such as Math, Science, or Social studies homework, and to top it off, they get more homework such as English. Because of this, the children do not have free time to themselves or for their interests and hobbies. To take this a step further, much of their homework is unnecessary work that has already been understood in class or does not need more practice. Many believe that homework can make a student brighter or help them get better grades in school. This is partially true, but too much can cause the productivity, performance, and comprehension of the student to lower drastically rather than raising
There should not be homework for students. For starters, homework pushes families further apart from each other. Secondly, homework causes kids to actually do worse on schoolwork and tests. Lastly, homework causes kids to get stressed out and depressed because they have to go home and do homework instead of have there own free time. Those are a few reasons why students should not have homework.
I believe we shouldn’t have homework from now until Christmas because, I need a break from homework everyone, if we don’t have homework everyone will be in Reward Day, and we get more time after school to go Christmas shopping for family members.
First, homework can help you understand what you’ve been taught on your own. Take math for example, if you asked a lot of questions in class you are able to try to think to yourself about the problem, and understand how to solve it. Studying the problem will help you get the problem done. Also it will get you done faster if you can understand it. Being able to do homework without having to cheat may be the first responsibility any child or student will have.
Have you ever wanted to just shred up your homework or throw it out the window and have no consequences? Kids are assigned daily homework from the time they start kindergarten at the ripe young age of five. Is it really necessary? Does it even help better learning or even higher test scores? The amount of homework we do wastes time, money, paper, and trees because it’s practically the exact same thing we did in class that day. Homework causes kid’s and teen’s frustration, tiredness, little time for other activities and possibly even a loss of interest in their education. It also keeps everyone up; it has kids and teens staying up until they finish it, the parents trying to help them and the teachers grading it. So, I think that homework is a waste and kids and teens should choose whether they want to do their homework for extra credit and practice or not.
Believe me when I tell you nothing is worse than coming home from a seven hour day at school then to a long hard practice and then doing more than four hours of homework each night. What a time to be alive they always say but not for teenagers who are consistently struggling over the hours of homework they are assigned each night. An average student probably takes at least one or two APs a year and above average student usually takes three or four. Each student is assigned to six classes sometimes even seven and then some students are assigned a zero period. From there I am telling you that students stay up as late as they possibly can until they know their homework is complete, I myself have expierenced many.
This will help promote my side of the argument so that my side will be the superior argument and will attract more readers. I think kids should have less homework.Three reasons are, that homework is stressful, kids are given more homework than required, and it puts pressure on students causing them to work to hard and and have anxiety and health issues.
In conclusion, homework is a waste of time. Time that can be better spent is with family and having fun participating in extracurricular activities. Eliminating homework allows students the reward of free time and the invaluable time spent with family. Homework creates unnecessary stress and strain for parents and students alike. Also, homework allows teachers to pawn off their own teaching responsibilities to students and parents with hours of homework. Homework is not beneficial and it should be banned for students Kindergarten thru 8th grade.
How many of you as children thought homework was a waste of time? How about now as adults with your own children?
...supporters say. Homework is also important because there are many types of assignments that cannot be easily completed during the school day, proponents contend. Writing an essay and conducting a science experiment, for example, are both extremely beneficial ways for students to gain a more total understanding of a certain subject, proponents say, but neither assignment is easily completed during classroom hours. Such assignments must be completed at home to be effective, supporters argue. (“Update: Homework”)
Children go to school for seven hours a day, when teachers make them do homework it causes them to get stressed. Furthermore if children understand what they learned at school why do they need to repeat it at home? If children are struggling on a certain subject, teachers should be able to help them directly, not with homework because giving them homework on something they don't know anything about is counterproductive. Instead private tutoring could be something schools provide for failing students and not homework.
Students are bombarded with hours of homework every night and it interferes with their lives. They are tired of staying up late at night to finish their homework or a paper that is due the next day. They should not have this workload that they have every night because they also have to live their childhood. Life is too short to be staying up until 11:00 because of schoolwork. Homework is unhealthy for students and it is not academically beneficial for them.
