Why I chose Nursing
Nurses develop a plan of care , they focus on treating illness to improve quality of life and I would like to be apart of that. To have the ability to heal or comfort a person. I want to be a nurse because I love working hard to make a difference and what better way to do it than to help people who truly need it. When your hard work is paying off in such a rewarding way, it is the most amazing, self-less experience you will ever get, even if it is something so small that makes your patients smile after going through something so difficult. The reason why I chose the NICU with the infants is because I get a joy out of being able to help those who are not able to help themselves. I strongly chose infants because being a mother to a baby boy I know I can show the infants the love I show my own son. Being a mother is one of the best blessings I received in life. I want to be able to help those worried scared mothers who are worried about their baby. Hopefully nursing will allow me to help these infants get better and let them go home healthy and happy. A neonatal nurse provides care for newborn babies the first four weeks of his or her life. Neonatal nursing care is divided into three levels depending on how severe the case Is. No matter the case I will make sure to always give my all and do my best. I will be there to educate the infant's parents. I will assist parents in feeding ,bathing ,and providing care while the newborn is attending the hospital. The level that most interest me is level III, intensive care unit, the reasoning to why I chose level III of NICU is because it will give me the compassion and loyalty to help the infants get better. I was given the opportunity to work at a hospital in the café as a nutrition assistant. It has allowed me to see how nurses interact with patients. Nurses interact with different people everyday, including patients, doctors, medical staff and administrators. There are lots of different opportunities in nursing. You can work in hospitals, schools, government agencies, home care facilities and more. I love the fact that nurses can change specialties.
