Why I Chose College Essay

Every year I am asked the same question by my teachers, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” In all honesty I am still not quite sure yet, however, I am more educated on the countless majors and degrees I can obtain in college. College is more than just receiving a degree and deciding what you should do with your life. I believe that college is a place where I can learn and begin to understand the world and how I can attribute to making a difference. Making a difference can be simple or as difficult as you make it. I may not be the next scientist to create a new global theory, but I believe I can have a small impact on the world. In order to impact the world I need to learn how the world works. My dedication to my goals will make them far less challenging as I reach new obstacles. An exciting obstacle that I will reach in the upcoming year is college. College is a place where I can get involved in a variety of activities and still be involved with academic studies. My academic studies are incredibly important to me because I want to broaden my overall knowledge and specifically new global knowledge of the world and society. High school has been extremely rewarding for me. I’ve met my best friends and have had the opportunity to exceed academically. Each class I have taken has taught me the class curriculum and how to be a better student. In high school I have also learned about myself. I have learned where I excel as a student and also my personal characteristics. However, I believe that I have still so much to learn about myself. College is a place where I will be able to figure out more about myself and learn what I want to do with my life. I’ve learned from my parents and friends that college can be rewarding.
