Deciding what university program to choose, is one of the decisions that can change the course of your life drastically. Like you, when I was in high school I had to tackle that decision, and at that time, I decided to go to medical school. Three years later, when I moved to Canada, I was faced with the same challenge once again, not being able to medical school directly, I applied to the Health Sciences program, which it turned out to be a perfect fit for me. The Health Sciences program at the University of Ottawa, offers an interdisciplinary approach to studying human health. All of the previously mentioned jobs have a common theme, they are related to improving people’s
After being lost, puzzled, and indecisive for a while now about which health-related career I desire the most, I finally made up my mind and selected a major. I decided to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science after accomplishing an Associate’s Degree in Science, which is an open field filled with opportunities for several health professions. I realized that a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science is the way to go as it enables me to switch back and forth between all of the health occupations that I worship. Down the road, I can even further my education and specialize in a specific domain that I am willing to commit to. In general, Health Science is a major where professionals undergo several tasks such as improving their community’s health and overall wellbeing, get involved in nutrition related conditions, use epidemiological techniques, counteract various infections, and enrich physical and daily health routines.

This was until I took Introduction to Kinesiology and I began to rethink my career options. During the semester many guest speakers came in to discuss their careers and what options we had as students. One of our guest speakers was an epidemiologist and described his career, and instantly I started researching careers in epidemiology. I decided that a Master’s in Public Health is the best option for myself. While in the program I plan to focus on the specialization of health administration. Overall I feel Health Administrators have the biggest impact on a large amount of people. Health Administration is the right career for me because it involves planning and coordinating which I’m extremely good at thanks to the responsibilities my two part-time jobs thrust upon me. Once I graduate from the program I would like to work in a small health care facility, such as a rehabilitation center. Eventually I would like to work my way up to the CEO of a health programs, but before then I would like to experience all the positions in healthcare administration
It has become common today to dismiss the fact that there are few women in the STEM careers today. Why are not young women choosing to pursue careers in math and science? Throughout elementary, middle, and high school, boys and girls were in the same math and science courses. Once they begin college and can choose their own course study, they tend to shy away from STEM careers. Going into college, young women still want to do STEM studies and careers, but when graduation comes around, there are more men with STEM degrees when compared to women. Due to societal norms for young girls and it historically being male dominated field, as women they are not choosing careers in math and science. Society frames a picture on how women and men are supposed to choose careers for their lives. Young women themselves choose not to go into STEM because society is typically stereotyping men into these fields instead of women.
Since I was young, I always wanted to become a doctor. I would always get excited when I would go to the doctor's office, which is rare for a young kid. Little did I know, my dreams were crushed when I found out the extensive amount of school required to become a doctor. We all know that more years in college, means more money accumulating towards student loans. During my junior year in high school, I enrolled in a few medical related courses. I discovered a variety of health careers that didn’t require more than 4 years of post-secondary education. One career caught my eye: radiation therapy. My interest became bigger and bigger each time I learned more about radiation therapy. Radiation therapist’s work with cancer patients by delivering

Medicine is a career field/topic that is constantly evolving, developing and branching out. Medicine is described as the practice of diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases, sicknesses, and other ailments. There are a multitude of medical careers with each one specializing in something different from the other, but with all sharing the same idea of helping others in a time of need. How can a career in medicine benefit a community? The answer can be found by exploring the many medical careers offered, an understanding of the crisis that occurs in the lives of people with little or no access to medical treatment or health insurance, and exploring the different ways in which medical care can be taken to the less fortunate around the world
College professors have been complaining about students who are unmotivated and uninterested; who therefor resist efforts to be educated. Students show this mindset in a few ways: not talking in class discussions, not reading assigned homework, complaining about to much work, missing class, and many more. Motivated and engaged college students cannot learn to their full potential; most students ridicule and look down on students who try hard in college universities. A sophomore at Duke University complains, "If you try to discuss something that happened in class, or something from your reading for class, they 'll ridicule you. People want to be able to turn off the academic switch the minute they get out of class" (Willimon 30).

Choosing a career is one of the most important decisions a person has to make in their life. It is so important because that is what we will have to do to support ourselves throughout life. Imagine being stuck in a dead end job and having to go to work every morning and dreading it. That is no spending oneÕs time and life is too short to work 35 years and be unhappy with it. If a person likes the job they do then it is not work, because finding satisfaction out of a job can bring great happiness. That information has enabled me to make the decision of choosing my area of study and career in the field of Information Technology.
I began high school in 2003. Like every other student I aimed for the so called high and prominent careers and my first choice was Medicine while my second choice was nursing. This led me to volunteer in a hospital immediately after High school but after the results were out I did not qualify for the Medicine program as a government sponsored student instead, I was selected for the General Science program. I did not know what the program entailed when I enrolled in the university but I embraced it positively and settled on making it work for me. I did my research on people who had previously gone through the same program and were successful and from the findings I chose those who were accessible and made them my mentors. Through interacting with them I gained knowledge from their experiences and I came to learn of a different perspective of medicine that of biomedical research. Today I look at General Science as the best thing destiny brought my way.
Planning and making right decisions can be the most important in the life of people who have careers and families to look upon. Although when one is young the future seems to at the other far end, everyone would like to have a well-paying career and a sustainable family. Many questions about career and family have been raised arguing which is superior to the other. Of course the family is more superior but it can be successful without income. Basic needs are essential and necessities to every individual. Money is required to fund the basic needs therefore career is also important as a family. It is unfortunate that United State is one of the nation that has high income but do not guarantee maternity and paternity leave.
