High school is now coming to an end for a lot of us. We are now coming to the age for looking at different colleges and what we want to do with our future this is the time that we are making these astronomical choices in our lives. In the article “Why Everyone Shouldn't Go To College?” By Larry Cuban it got republished at the Washington Post. He expresses his views on college. Larry Cuban is very persuasive as he makes us believe why everyone should not go to college. He has outstanding credibility and he knows how to grab the reader's attention. Also, he keeps the reader intrigued by using valuable fasts throughout the post. Within the blog he loads up on logos to support his claim. He describes how much college will be and the enrollment statistics. He states that in 2010 nearly 70% of people just graduating high school immediately enroll in college but it is misleading because most people who enroll drop out of college (2). Larry Cuban puts these astonishing facts about enrollment to show that even though it seems like many students go to college they drop out and we never see those. They want us to go to school and get a degree and he shows the other side of dropping out. Larry also states that in four more years of studying academic subjects is tedious work and there is no guarantee of getting a high paying job once out (3). He shows that the students who choose to go to college are taking risks and showing the reader that this is the hard truth about college. He puts a lot more statics in to make his argument stronger and persuade us. As shown above Larry Cuban preserves his reader his various ways. By using his ethos the reader can rely on what he is talking about. Also he chooses a writing style to capture the reader.
