Music and poetry, when combined, create a refreshing work of art that stirs the emotions and senses of the audience more. As such, it is interesting to consider the way in which music and poems can enter into conversation with each other or, offer comparable stylistic approaches and capitalize on emotions. Two such works are the songs of Stravinsky and the poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, by American-British poet, TS Eliot. The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock was written between 1910 and 1911 and was first published June 1915 under the publisher Harriet Monroe. Stravinsky was a Russian born composer, who composed in the early 20th century, contemporary to TS Eliot’s work. TS Eliot’s poem is the main topic of this critical analysis essay and will be analyzed in terms of its textual relationship with Stravinsky’s works. More specifically, Prufrock and Stravinsky textually converse in The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock which creates an effective emotional response from its audiences because of the sincerity of the verses. The Love Song of J.
