I used grades form like most common teachers for motivation students to learn math. However, many students do not see grades as a motivational factor. Both of them was exciting and it was amazing listening to their explanation for the card numbers and the math process they use which is important to improve language development and way to help student think creatively and explain their idea clearly. As well as in the second game they both exciting and try using different way such as drawing to find the solution when it hard for one of them to use numbers only to figure out the answer. I didn’t notice any frustrated when one of them loss that i was worried about instead they ask me to play again looking for winning in the next time . Mathematics has become a very large part of society today. From the moment children learn the basic principles of math to the day those children become working members of society, everyone has used mathematics at one point in their life. The crucial time for learning mathematics is during the childhood years when the concepts and principles of mathematics can be processed more easily. However, this time in life is also when the point in a person’s life where information has to be broken down to the very basics, as children don’t have an advanced capacity to understand as adults do. Nine out of 14 students in the “Minions” and “Mickey Mouse Clubs” played this game effectively, demonstrating positive growth. While a few students needed some assistance, and were not able to do it completely independently. Students in the “Looney Toons” and “Peanuts” continue to struggle a bit with this, but they were able to show they could refer back their notes and work with a partner to solve the division problems. Many students in these groups chose to use the partial quotients strategy or the picture model. This may be because they are bit more visual for these concrete learners. These strategies also relate to skills we have been working on in previous units for place value and multiplication. Overall, only about half of the students were able to show full mastery of these concepts, and a majority of them were in the upper level tiered groups which was a bit expected as they are able to grasp concepts a bit quicker. One way to excite students about learning is by using games. Game play can require students use higher-order thinking skills, where they are analyzing, creating and understanding the concepts at deeper level. Making games from content, or Gamification can be done by creating teams, scores, competitions, and rewards.
