My thoughts about the American flag ofthe United States of America are mainly how we won our free dom and the sacrifices that made it happen.It is very important for me to know what the flag stands for. What the American flag means to me as a citizen is that those who fought in thr United States of America then and now. What I think about the American flag before and after I joined NJROTC are very different. Before I joined NJROTC, either I had no idea what importance it had or I just did not care. After I joined NJROTC, I learned right from the start that the flag stands for the fallen soldiers and sailors, it stands for victory, and basically it stands for our country, NJROTC has affected my beliefs by the way I am taught. I am as important as everyone else around me, even someone who is not a citizen of the United States of America. I believe that the uniform I wear lets me experience what it is like to protect the American flag. It is hard for me to believe that in a way I represent the American flag.I believe that the American flag should not be disrespected in any way. Some people like to kneel for the national Anthem, and others burn the flag to protest. It is completely disrespectful and inappropriate to do eithe rone of these things. I personally would never do that because I have been taught well by my teachers in NJROTC and at home to never ever do that. Our flag deserves to be respected because people have fought for that flag before and there are still people out there right now fighting to keep this country a peaceful and safe place.
