Egypt can be considered one of the places where the heat is too much to handle. However, throughout these deserts you can find pyramids. These pyramids are one of the biggest mysteries in the world. Although many items have already been discovered by egyptologists, it is believed that many more treasures and mysteries are hidden within the sand. Regardless of all the things that we do not know about the pyramids, this ancient architecture is one of the oldest and most important constructions in the world.

The pyramid was made out of limestone and desert clay, and when King Zoser died in 2648 BC, his grave was built in that pyramid. Inside, the burial chambers were cut later on by Imhotep in order to copy the design of the pyramid. After 150 years later, Pharaoh Khufu wanted to build the biggest pyramid in all of Egypt, formally known as the Old Kingdom. Their form of writing was hieroglyphics, which was a bunch o f symbols written on the pyramids. Some people were able to decipher what these hieroglyphics meant and found pieces of literature on the wall, now referred to as The Pyramid Texts. These primary sources reveal how life was back in the Old Kingdom, and also reflected on how the gods and pharaohs were honored. These hieroglyphics are one of the reasons that we have partial knowledge about life in Ancient Egypt during the Old Kingdom. We have learned about what deities they follow, such as Ra, and we can infer based on the source how people used to live back then.
