How does pollution affect our mother earth and our own human bodies?
Pollution has slowly over taken our earth since mankind came into being. Pollution affects everything and anything. It affects plants, animals, and our oceans. It is slowly killing our planet. Not only does it cause harm to them, but it also causes damage to the human body itself. We may think it does not affect us, but in all reality it does. It is all a slow domino effect.
Global Perspective
Pollution is affecting our planet harshly and disgustingly. “Pollution is one of the biggest global killers, affecting over 100 million people, it is comparable to global disease like malaria and HIV” (according to 11 facts about pollution) The perfect example of this is the Country of India. In India 80% of sewage is left untreated, and then is allowed to flow into the countries rivers. The terrible thing yet is that these rivers are the main sources of drinking water for its inhabitants. This is extremely unsanitary and utterly dangerous to the population’s health. Drinking polluted water can cause severe nausea, vomiting, cramps and severe diarrhea. Also drinking contaminated water can infect the human body with diseases such as cholera, polio, hepatitis A, dysentery and Amoebiasis. Which left untreated, can be life threatening and easily spread. The country itself produces 40 million liters of sewage every day, and only about 20% of that is treated (source: Centre for Science and Environment; Excreta does matter). Also a survey was created and the results were terrifying. Out of 8,000 towns, only 160 had both sewage systems and a sewage treatment plant. All of this can be blamed on the government for failing to keep in check about the water us...

...the laws and regulations is a good idea. Also informing the public about all this harm pollution causes them, can make them reconsider things and change their actions and attitude about the environment, and care more to protect their mother earth.
Personal Perspective and Response
I personally believe that pollution can be controlled and alleviated. I think with very strict rules, consequences, and government action it would be under control. It is ridiculous that we are killing are own mother earth, that has given us life and beauty. Sadly not many people are educated on this and how such simple things can injure ourselves and the environment around us. I honestly believe if everyone knew the statics and the research, and learn about what air they are breathing and what water they are drinking, then the earth would be a much cleaner and healthier place to live.
