Ayesha Saeed May 4, 2014 The Attack of Pearl Harbor Pearl Harbor, Hawaii was attacked in 1944 by Japan. The attack was a quick and cruel response against many of the US Government's actions against the Empire. Such courses of action were the Oil Embargo formed by the US to protest the Invasion of Manchuria. Japan also believed that it might bring the US to the bargaining table, and lift the embargo. The attack may have brought the elimination of the Empire of Japan, for the United States may not have joined because of it. However, it was one of the most major examples of Japanese strategy, and for some reason they gave it away. It brought the United States into the Biggest Conflict of the 20th Century as part of the Allied Forces alongside Great Britain, France, and The United Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1931, The Empire of Japan invaded Manchuria (the Northeastern part of China). Their main importer was the United States who had put an embargo as a sign of disapproval.
