This short paper will discuss my analysis of the Informative Speech I gave in class. I will cover posture, voice – volume and distinction, eye contact, and overall analysis.
Posture
At the beginning of my speech I think my posture was good. However, I do think it had is weaknesses. I stood straight and didn’t move around for example. I could have used my movements and better posture to get a more knowledgeable perception to the audience. I had my back towards the audience on the left of me when I was pointing at things on the slide show. I know this is a big NO-NO but I guess I didn’t realize at the time that I was doing it.

In the shadow of the assassination of John F. Elie Wiesel, a holocaust survivor, delivered The Nobel Peace Prize Acceptance Speech, in Oslo on December 10, 1986. He started his speech off by reciting the following prayer: "Barukh atah Adonai …shehekhyanu vekiymanu vehigianu lazman hazeh"—"Blessed be Thou…for giving us life, for sustaining us, and for enabling us to reach this day." Then, after his speech, the people thanked him for everything he had done to help humankind make peace. With a profound sense of humility, he accepted this honor.

During this time, Joseph McCarthy accused a countless number of government officials of being communist spies. This event would eventually lead to the society in the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Fear and government control are both complications that are within Senator Joseph R. McCarthy’s speech and could give rise to the society and atmosphere in Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451.
Dear Butler, after reading your story “Speech Sounds”, made a positive and great impression on me which are unexplainable and reminisced over the events while I had in my childhood.
Impassioned orators provoke a strengthen desire for peaceful resolution to a situation that has previously aroused hostility. Two prominent Australians who achieved this are Noel Pearson’s speech ‘An Australian history for all of us’ and Paul Keating’s ‘Redfern Speech’. Both speeches portray the lack of national identity through the unjust treatment of the history of Aboriginal Australians. They also provoke a profound desire to resolve injustice due to one’s realisation of the amounting necessity for change to achieve a more harmonious and socially just society. This is to unite and unify the audience therefore encompassing a better future.
The delivery of my speech portrays a sense of calmness and seriousness. I used this style of speaking to show the importance of my subject, lack of organ donors. Throughout the presentation I used note cards as a guide and frequently made eye contact with my audience. When giving facts that I felt were important I made sure to look at the camera to show there significance. I also added my input into some of the facts to try and convince my listeners to become organ donors
Introduction This research is intended to analyze the transcript of a child’s speech. The target child is a female named Majorie, who is 2 years and 3 months old. The transcript is from The Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology. The linguistic aspects that will be examined are the phonological processes of the child, including speech errors, syllable shapes, and her phonetic inventory consisting of manner and place of articulation.
Vocal Considerations: My speech will be delivered in a natural and constant speaking pattern. This will allow me to convey my speech in a clear matter that the audience can understand.
Imagine living during the 1960’s when the nation was divided by segregation. The only way to express your ideas, beliefs, and thoughts during that time was through words. Famous Civil Rights activists such as, Dr.Martin Luther King Jr., inspired many with his wise words and empowering speeches. Times when many felt unheard or invisible, words were there as tranquilness and an ataraxia. Words have the power to provoke, calm, or inspire by motivating others to take action in what they believe in.
The speech that was analyzed was “Your Body Language Shape Who You Are” by social psychologist, Amy Cuddy. Amy explained in her speech that other people’s and your body language can display how a person can perceive themselves in a power dominance situation. Also, Cuddy described how an individual can change how a room of people views them by simply arranging their posture. Amy Cuddy gave an effective speech by her delivery of the topic, her credibility on the subject, and how she kept the audience engage.
Making a successful public presentation or speech to an audience was a very big task for me before I joined the public speaking class. I was always frightened and very nervous. Since then I now understand the process of making a speech or a presentation including coming up with a topic and from this topic develop the main points of the speech, research, organize my points, revise them, edit and make a magnificent presentation to any audience. People in the audience might sometimes agree or disagree with my opinion or points, it was therefore necessary to communicate my information clearly to the audience without making any judgments since every person was entitled to a different opinion and views about things.
In public speaking I learned many types of concepts, theories and terms of communication. In concepts of publicly speaking there’s, relaxation, practice, credibility, attention getters, attire, organization, volume, emotion, audience relation, and movement. In my first speech, “The any old bag speech” I quickly learned the do’s, don’ts and concepts of my speech performance.
How to do things with words? People use words to talk to each other’s to find something out or to persuade somebody to do something or to build relationship. To talk in any language, you have to know the words sounds for that particular language & to read/write any text for the same language, you have to know the visual or other symbols. People prefer to use talk in their communication rather than reading/writing because they believe it is produced rapid interaction. I am going to discuss about some characteristic for everyday talk for English language, the structure & the function of the talk, some theories of sociologist & philosophers in the field of conversation analysis and give some examples.
Before coming United States, I spent around 18 years going to school in China. I can say, in China, we do not or at least seldom do public speaking. What we do is mostly sitting down as listeners and hearing others do their presentation. In short, we, normal Chinese students, do not have the opportunity to give a speech. However, I guess I am one of the lucky people. I was selected as the compere for many big events. Even I was not giving an entire speech, I still had the chance of standing in front of many audience.
