REFLECTION ON CLASSROOM OBSERVATION

Through classroom observation I was exposed to the different methods of teaching a lesson. The methods of teaching depends on how will the teacher execute the lesson well. I learned that modern learners today needs both modern and traditional way of teaching as for them to fully learned the lesson in a meaningful way.
This is my first day in Bulihan National High School. The Officer in Charge of Mathematics Department as well as the Head Teacher VI of TLE Department of BNHS Mr. Jaime P. Noceda accommodated us to the school. He also assigned on what year where will be going to teach and I’m assigned to teach Grade 7.

I can say that there room is conducive to learning. They were 30 plus students. They were electric fan and window for their ventilation. And I can see that the students were comfortable.
My cooperating teacher has a very good classroom management; it was really obvious in her way of speaking. Classroom management is also one thing that I must learn. I should learn to make the learner’s environment clear from anything that can distract them from learning. Classroom management involves the discipline that also plays a vital role in the learning of the students. Discipline is composed of set of rules and regulation that everyone inside a room should follow to achieve the best learning. A well organized classroom is a key to deliver and present the lesson properly and effectively. She started her lesson with her motivational activity and she caught the interest of her students. She is very creative and she use educational technology in teaching. The discussion proper was a good one, the topic was about special product. The students were listening and reciting actively. Good teachers set high expectations and motivate the students to meet those expectations. As students strive for excellence, teachers assist students in meeting their highest potential through daily lessons. Teachers also serve as role models. Teachers make a contribution to society by preparing students for their real world endeavors. They teach students through example to be kind, respectful, humble, patient and determined.”

In addition, during my observation even if this was my first day, I observed the different levels of intelligence of the students based on how they answer the question and how they react in the discussion. I also noticed their behavior inside the classroom, students at the back were very noisy, and busy doing unnecessary things.
On the next two sections the same activity and same class discussion. While students are doing their activity I am secretly observing their attitudes; the way they speak, the way they move and the way they perform their tasks. I was very careful with my words that time, for me not to commit mistakes and because I want to get the attention of my students I remained serious all throughout the
