In the US, when young people reach the age 18, they start getting driving license, move from their family home, and they become able to vote. In other words, they become legally adults who are independent and responsible for their own decisions. However, do all people in the US agree with considering young people as fully grown adults at the age 18 years old? While some people are against this point of view, I am going to argue why young people should be considered legally adults at the age 18, and give some details and examples on why some people are against this. Some people believe that 18 years old people are not grown up enough to independently lead their own lives. The fact that people graduate from high school at the age 18 is one thing that shows they can and should be considered adults by the time they reach 18. At this age, they should make several different decisions. First, they should decide whether they want to proceed their education journey. If they decide to continue their education and go to university, they will have to decide which major they want to get in, which university they are going to study at, and how they will pay for the college tuition. There are many other decisions and responsibilities that they will have to deal with. Another point for considering 18 years old people as adults is that with all of these decisions they have to make, they should have the full freedom to choose the path they want to take in life.
