Child abuse effects Child abuse causes many negative effects. Every child who has suffered abuse is affected differently.The effects of abuse can be divided into physical damage, emotional damage, and social damage (Briere & Runtz,1986,p.76). Physical damage includes hitting, shaking, kicking, and burning. At least one of them could happen on a physically abused child. Physical abuse could include cuts, fractures, burns and sometimes death.
