physical is when someone hits you in a way that it can hurt the body. Physical can make a child feel frightened, depressed, isolated. Some of this kids that are being physical abuse they feel like harming their bodies and even run away from home not knowing where their next destination is going to be. “Sometimes, when we are used to something happening, it feels like it is part of normal life.” (www.childline.org.uk) When a child is being abused for a long time they get used the pain and the beating that they do to them. The kids think that is apart of their everyday activities but they don 't see how bad is it for them.
There are children who have become victims of rejecting parent’s actions that influence abuse and violence. Children who experience such harm will continue the cycle, if the child does not seek help. Parents might not acknowledge the effects the child can experience at such a young age. Some parents are too busy being involved in their own negative behavior. Including the minimization of one’s own agentive role in harming others.
A child that is abused will most likely be abused until they are a teenager and will usually find themselves in an abusive relationship later in life, if they’re not being abused they will usually be the abuser. The child will most likely be effected by the abuse their whole lives, and will need therapy in some point in their lives. But most cannot afford it so they live with the thoughts of being abused all their lives. Many people are not aware of the long-term effects abuse can have on a child. Whether a child experiences abused, or witnesses it, the effects often affect the physical, intellectual, and emotional growth of the child.
As a child, there are many situations that affect a view, memory, opinion, or attitude. Children have many of their own daily struggles to cope with, such as peer pressure. Adults sometimes forget what it is like to be a child dealing with some of the childhood pressures. Many parents do not realize how something like divorce could possibly affect their children as much as it does themselves. As the case may be, children are strongly affected by divorce.
They may think that when they are punishing the child for doing something wrong, when they are physically abusing a child. Because these parents do not know better, they will think that they are just correcting the behaviour of that child, when they are truly hurting them (Elsevier, 2007). Being single parents can also trigger a parent to be abusive towards his/ her child/ children. Single parents tend to have a lot on their mind, for example, taking care of their child/ children on his/ her own, playing both fatherly and motherly roles,... ... middle of paper ... ...ave Abusive head trauma, and impaired brain development (Williamson, 2013). Children who are physically abuse at home may be involved in juvenile delinquent, criminal activities and or drug and alcohol abuse.
Maltreatment of a child can come in many different forms. Personally I think that physical child abuse is the worse because some children get hit for unnecessary reasons. Majority of children being abused would not tell since they are scared of their abuser. Children are more likely scared of their abuser when the abuser randomly decides to spank them just to relieve some stress that the child is causing at that moment. Signs of physical abuse in children could be bruises on covered body parts, hand print bruises, burn marks, fractures, and history of consistent
Some abused children are not noticed until it is too late. Phyical abuse is easier to notice or piont out such as the broosing from punches, beatens, kicks, bites, burns, or other harmful physical handlings but a child that is being sexually abused or emotional such as doing inappropriate touching or just the harmful sayings and the lack of love may be harder to notice but still happens just as often. These children are left to fend for themselves, learning signs of abuse my help a child, may even stop a parent from abusing and damaging a child even farther.
The main sign of this kind of physical abuse that the parents or caregivers can show are anger problems or the excessive need for control. Sexual abuse is another type of child abuse. It is any type of sexual activity that a child cannot understand or give consent to. Some examples of this are: fondling, oral-genital contact, genital or anal intercourse, exhibitionism, voyeurism and exposure to pornography (National Council On Child Abuse And Family Violence...) Some signs of sexual abuse are: the child has trouble sitting or standing,... ... middle of paper ... ...g a support system can be hard. If they do not have anyone to listen to him or her or even help take care of them, they can easily turn to child abuse.
Child abuse is a phenomenon in today’s society. Many people have been victims and although it has been taken into consideration, more surveillance should be taking place. There are three types of abuse that ruin the life of a child: physical, emotional, and sexual. However, focusing on domestic violence, a child will be affected by physical and emotional abuse. The problem is that some parents may not even consider how it affects their child in public places.
Many parents, in every culture, use child abuse as a method of conditioning their children to behave well. They use severe negative reinforcement too punish their children. These parents only see the immediate effects of child abuse. Naturally, if a child is beaten for doing something wrong, they will learn not to do it again. However, abused children tend to develop many problems later in life.
