Should Schools give out Homework?
Have you ever wanted to know how well you would do in school without homework, how it affects teachers or even if it really stresses kids out, well in this essay I will tell you why schools should not give out homework to students.
Some people may say that homework helps your grades or that it helps a child's mind grow more or faster and that the extra time spent doing homework is helping the student's grades and teaching them to be responsible people.
Homework is taking the educators time Homework is not just affecting students but it is also affecting teachers. For example grading homework can take long and can really affect the teacher's family time, sure some teachers do not care how long it takes but really what's more important sheets of paper or being able to see your loved ones. It can also be very overwhelming for teachers to sit there in a quiet room by themselves grading sheets of paper and working til they are done and then add the work teachers have to grade that is from inside the classroom (class work) I would definitely be overwhelmed after doing that much work.
Does homework help grades?

I do not like that because I want to be in tune with the rest of the class. For example on huffingtonpost.com a group of Australian researchers did many tests and found the conclusion that homework actually lowers grades, and on greatkids.org they found out that kids who where doing more homework did not do better than the kids who did very little homework. That makes me feel like homework is a time
There should not be homework for students. For starters, homework pushes families further apart from each other. Secondly, homework causes kids to actually do worse on schoolwork and tests. Lastly, homework causes kids to get stressed out and depressed because they have to go home and do homework instead of have there own free time. Those are a few reasons why students should not have homework.
Even though students need to learn how to manage their time more efficiently, including budgeting your time to complete an assessment, they should not be required to do homework. Homework is a big waste of time and isn't efficient. To begin with, homework is causing insane stress for students today. When you get 30 minutes of homework from each class, that is 3 hours of homework! That leaves you no time for family dinners, game night, hanging out with friends, going to youth group or church, or activities like art, music, soccer, and maybe even feeding the homeless.
“Oh my gosh!” is what most would say when a teacher assigns homework. Students don’t always understand that homework can help in many ways. Teachers are not trying to take away a time from your day; they simply want to know that you understand what they are teaching in class to you. Homework has many advantages for you; it lets you help yourself, it teaches responsibility, and also helps ones concentration.
Healthline.com has said that “Students in high achieving neighborhoods who spend too much time on homework have more health problems, stress, and alienation from society.” Being sick of school is one thing, but when school is making you sick because of the homework you have now is bad. Elementary kids having physical problems just from homework can eventually lead to other possible problems down the road. These problems include substance abuse, becoming a high school dropout, and possibly death by suicide. So why risk a student’s life for a few homework
Many students view homework as a chore not a
Homework: burdensome and time-consuming. Overwhelming and boring. Some students complain about it, and others love it. Ever since the United States became a country, people have argued over the benefits of homework. Kids in early America often dropped out of school after a few years because they needed help on the farm.
Since homework is given to all students in the same class, its purpose cannot have anything to do with the students’ individual minds. “According to the School Library Journal (2005), students are receiving higher grades with less outside preparation” (www.centerforrepubliceducation.org). Students lives would be much easier if teachers gave students additional classwork; rather than giving students homework to complete after school for several
In conclusion, I have to say that homework should truly be banned from all schools around the world. When this happens, teachers will start to feel respected during class time, parents will be able to bond and get together with their precious family for once, and students? They will be living the true meaning of a school life. Sure, homework can teach children good study habits, organization, and responsibility. But face it. You and I know it’s just more than that. Homework is just downright misery.
In conclusion, homework is a waste of time. Time that can be better spent is with family and having fun participating in extracurricular activities. Eliminating homework allows students the reward of free time and the invaluable time spent with family. Homework creates unnecessary stress and strain for parents and students alike. Also, homework allows teachers to pawn off their own teaching responsibilities to students and parents with hours of homework. Homework is not beneficial and it should be banned for students Kindergarten thru 8th grade.
Parents and schools believe that homework enhances students brain function and help them review what they did prior. But I believe this is wrong and, is just a cruel way to punish students. There are three reasons for saying why students should not get homework; For one, too much homework develops stress and a loss of sleep for the student. Furthermore, students should be able to go outside and play after school to maintain a good health.
After a long day of sitting in a chair listening to a teacher talk and talk about things that you know that you need in your profession is boring and a lot of time being wasted. Having homework invades with many peoples social lives and for many people, it cuts time from being able to hang out with their friend or significant other. It also cuts into family activities, for example if you and your family are wanting to go camping and then you realize that you need to stay home and do homework because your teacher assigned it forcing you to stay home while your family is out catching fish and having a great time but you have to stay
The nation's youngest students are doing three times as much homework as is recommended (Caspari). Homework has been around for a long time in one form or another. Teachers should stop giving students a lot of homework. Teachers should stop giving so much because they have given more useless paperwork, students have no time, it is stressing students out, and every single student is different.
Students may not even do the homework and its less improvement for them. Homework can help bring your grade up, for example if you get a 75% on a test a 100 on a homework can help. Statistics have shown that students do not need graded homework to maintain good grades homework is just a practice of what you learned. out of 125 people surveyed by me over 80% said that homework should not be graded for various reasons. Homework can improve a students grade but also destroy it. Its true homework can help your grade but getting a bad grade on a test and getting a 100 on a homework is going to change nothing because test are worth much much more than
...supporters say. Homework is also important because there are many types of assignments that cannot be easily completed during the school day, proponents contend. Writing an essay and conducting a science experiment, for example, are both extremely beneficial ways for students to gain a more total understanding of a certain subject, proponents say, but neither assignment is easily completed during classroom hours. Such assignments must be completed at home to be effective, supporters argue. (“Update: Homework”)
Students spend hours doing it, teachers spend hours checking it. Homework is sometimes a burden to teachers and students but still it is necessary. Some people doubt homework's effectiveness, but teachers and researchers agree homework is essential. Homework helps students get better grades in school.
